Looks like they did taint their reputation irretrievably, in that case..

I bought quite a bit of CJ8000 - there are so many different types and I had to try them all (sounds like Pokémon, doesn't it? ). Also Yasaka ZAP (which is made by Palio). Can't say I had a topsheet separate (though it did happen to a retail sheet of Emperor Dragon), but ALL of the sheets were "dished" - made it hard to put on the blade. It was so bad with one sheet I ended up with a crease in the topsheet. Net result - I have something like 6-8 sheets, unused, of CJ8000 and ZAP.

I guess, in that case, for the Stiga blades in question, it would be interesting to see if ANY of them were ever sold in Japan, with the JTTAA stamp, and if any of those peeled. I suspect they WERE sold in Japan (either with or without the stamp) and a small percentage of those sold in Japan peeled just like the ones outside Japan. If the problem was restricted to that one model of blade it's definitely a problem with the choice of glue or manufacturing process - most likely the glue used for the top layer was inappropriate for whatever the substrate was. And they found out about it long after several thousand blades had left the factory. Long after they paid JTTA for the stamps if they ever sold any with the stamps. It's also possible they chose that particular glue or process because it gave the blade certain properties that another glue would not have given.

I wanted to look at the official rule for blade at JTTAA

After being unable to find the website for JTTAA, I went to ITTF directory & looked for JTTAA website.

If you click on JTTAA logo at directory , the page that pops up says "Website not available"

Any ideas ?

Any ideas? Yeah - it's probably not important..

Rules? I suspect all you need is that the blade conforms to ITTF rules, AND you pay them a significant amount of money.. Isn't this a blast from the past - go back and read from the beginning, it's very interesting.

Thanks

I went to
http://www.jtta.or.jp/association/tabid ... fault.aspx

But it is in Japanese. Google Translate errors out

I was looking for any additional regulations on top of ITTF.
I heard all tournament blades must have JTTAA logo or something
