Hi Guys,
Can anyone give me opinions on the Donic Defplay Senso V3?
I use long pips on the backhand to block and I smash the hell out of the ball with my forehand.

I personally didn't like the defplay for blocking. It depends on your style -- if you like to do the slow blocks with more control, or the faster paced zingers.

If you like that feeling, but need a slightly faster one... I had good success blocking with OX pips on the hadraw shield blade. It's similar to defplay but heavier, tad bit stiffer and faster.

I love the defplay and have 3 -all have been cut down.
its amazing at blocking close to the table with anti.
ive used dtecs in ox and found it good for blocking off the bounce.
i had no problems with the f/h side but you may have to cut the blade down as it is o/s and a bit cumbersome.

I like the Defplay Senso! It is a bit "tricky" blade and needs some time to get used of it. I use it with Spinpips Chop2 on BH and Rakza 7 Soft FH. This blade helped me improve A LOT!!

Excellent blade for modern defense, you can gain many points with topspin hits and also blocks very nicely near the table. Chopping is excellent. I love this blade and thinking of making a second bat with Curl P4 and Fastarc G-1.

Hi,

I've been playing with the Defplay Senso V3, for around 9-10 months, and have used it with Xiom Vega Euro, and Palio Ak-47 Blue on the FH, and Pogo OX, Dawei 388D-1, and Palio CK531A 0.6mm... Here's my 2 cents

  • I'd rate this blade in the range of All, rather than Def
  • It's quite springy/bouncy... Initially, I had a tough time keeping the ball on the table, when blocking. However, over time, I think I've adjusted to it...
  • I felt, I could loop/top-spin really well with this blade.
  • The inverted rubbers I've used on this blade, have been on the softer side... I feel this makes the ball linger-on for a bit longer, than I'd like... Good for lifting backspin.. spinny loops, but I found, at times, that it lacked speed and bite... Also, not the most ideal combo for flat-hits... I'd like to try a harder inverted rubber on this blade
  • The top-ply is rather delicate.. So, be careful while gluing/un-gluing...Seal the blade..
  • Passive blocks from the pips-side - I feel that although the balls lands on the table, it does so, on the higher side... I'm not sure if it's my setup to blame, or my technique...
  • I feel, with this blade, and the Dawei 3dd-1 combo, I could also chop , 3-6 feet away from the table... However, my chops went back, on the higher side.. Could be my technique (??)

After you've played with the defplay-based setup for a while, I'd like your views on how it compares to the Power Defense, you're currently paying with

Funny coincidence. Had to travel to Bogota, Colombia two days ago and took my usual Dr. N. Titan and added the Defplay Senso V3 (Palio AK47 Blue and GD Giant Long 0.6 on BH) on the thought that balls at 8000 feet altitude would be moving quickly. Playing against top youngsters (King of the Mountain on 8 tables), sure enough my Titan (H3 and Giant Long) was much too fast. Nothing to lose, changed to the Defplay. Incredible change. The control was higher, the AK47 was deadly as long as my timing was right on. Either at sea level or altitude have felt that blocks with my lp on the defplay were easy and with good control. The difference v.a.v. the balsa Titan was better feel on the Titan. Was really shocked because I felt I would be wiped out by the youngsters but ended winning the top table the entire night, mainly because of the defplay senso and rubber combinations. You won't go wrong.
