Saw one other post on this. I have a DefPlay Senso that I cut down to the head size of my wife's Viscaria. I do love the feel of the Senso blade after getting it wanted a smaller head.

Have I changed the speed of the blade by doing this? Paddle Palace has the DefPlay rated as a DEf plus blade. Is this now an Allround blade due to the head size reduction, or does it not have any impact on the playing on the blade. Thanks!

Everything else being equal, a lighter blade is slower and less power. Reducing the size will reduce the weight.

I didn't notice any difference in speed/control when I reduced the Defplay,I found it better for topspin due to being able to swing faster with the lighter weight,I think the flex is slightly less too which is a good thing.There is speed variation between the 3 Defplays I own and the heaviest (was 87g when new)plays faster and is stiffer ,this one has more power than the 82g Stiga allround I own

A smaller blade of the same material is generally faster than the larger one. That is what blade makers will tell you. The bigger, over-sized version has more flex and give to it. Cutting it down gives a more direct, crisp feel. The actual weight is usually only changed slightly. Taking an over-sized blade to 'regular' size, I reduced the weight by only around 6 grams. That was with heavy materials to begin with, so using a blade like the defplay, I can imagine the weight reduction being very tiny.

6 grams is significant (out of, say, 90 grams). Also there's the weight of the rubber - since it's cut smaller it also weighs less. If you use two sheets of inverted that's quite a bit of weight. Not so much if you use long pips.

A senso would have a hollow handle, right? If so I can see why it's "more head heavy". Remember that if you're using two sheets of inverted, that makes up a LOT of the weight of the racket, and it's ALL located beyond the handle.

I would be keen to reduce head size of my Defplay which does feel like a little axe with inverted rubbers. It's full 20 g of extra weight compared to my normal size rackets with same rubber.
How did you do it?
What tools are the best?
Would be great to hear about your experience.

A lump of blu tack on the end of the handle is quick way of balancing a blade.

... or you could duct-tape a 20p (or two) to the end of the handle.
As indicated by others, perceived "overweight" can usually be rectified by correcting the balance, even when that implies adding weight.

I think this would work better for chopping than for a looping blade...

Probably a bandsaw or jigsaw and a belt/disc sander. But I think it would be better to buy another blade and keep the Defplay for when you eventually want to try long pips.
