Why not just get him another Flame Carbon?
Ask him what the weight of his blade was, order something close to that weight. Some vendors will actually try to supply a blade of the weight you ask for. Iskandar

I would like to buy a blade as a gift for my friend but need some insight. His current setup is a Nittaku Flame Carbon with Nittaku Fastarc S-1 on both sides. I was wondering how a Butterfly Viscaria compares to his blade or are there similar blades to his but better attributes. I believe his next rubbers would be Tibhar MX-P because he really liked them when he tested some. |

His setup in hand feels very light. Looking at stats Flame Carbon averages 85 grams rated as OFF- and Viscaria averages 90 grams rated as OFF. I also thought of asking for the lightest blade if possible. |

Aha... so you DON'T want something similar. Yup, the Viscaria would be a little heavier. The reason I thought the weight would be important is to get a matched pair of blades. But that only works with two of the same kind. Rather an expensive gift.. Iskandar |
