These are a new type of blade for me. Has anyone tried any of these? I figure they must have a very hard feeling, and it should be more difficult to get spin on loops. On the other hand, it may be great for blocking with frictionless anti or LP, where short dwell time is an important factor.

Here is a video of a Yinhe blade. I can't find it in any store, does anyone know what blade it is (I tried their web site but only in japaneese and google does not translate it very well):

Also, Palio has a five different versions of their "outer fiber" series. I almost bought one when I ordered from Eacheng a few weeks ago but it was a little expensive and it was not the version I really wanted:

TSP Black Balsa 5.0 and 7.0 have a layer of Fibreglass in the top-ply ( they are 3-ply Balsa blade of 5mm and 7mm balsa cores) . The Outer-FibreGlass makes the blade rock-hard when smashing .... but very "non-linear" springy when playing loops ... effect is when you smash the ball rockets like crazy.... but when you brush-loop you look like a beginner with that high-arc spinny return that moves super-slow :P Too much adjusting if you have not played with Balsa blades a lot. This effect is even more pronounced with Dr.Neubauer blades like Firewall-Plus and High-Tech Cypress-Carbon :P

So the best compromise I found was to not go for the Carbon/composite route but rather the all wood blades. TSP Versal and Yasaka Battle-Balsa have I believe a harder ? is it koto? outer-ply ? while inner is all Balsa ...

Someone correct me I think it is Koto outer-ply that is hard ... kiri is the "softer" wood ...

Disclaimer: DO NOT DO THIS!
IF YOU THINK you are Hard enough perhaps attempt to ruin or mega-improve the blade hardness by Convection-heat treating in an oven at ~110 -> 180 degC ? or if you are brave enough to try something that will ruin the blade if you don't know what you are doing. Disclaimer: DO NOT DO THIS!

Here is a link to "prove" that what I said is sciency and no way at all gonna destroy that 40+ 50+ 60+ 70+ 100+ USD TT Blade ;)

Boy, do those look ugly. Really bad layup work, looks like it was done by hand. You can see dry spots where the resin didn't go. Looks like they epoxied some sort of aramid/carbon cloth to the face of an existing blade.

That is WRM TV on Youtube !!! If you watched any of their recent content they have been "experimenting" with rackets and rubbers :-P 50 year old MarkV or Sriver or I think Spectol ??? I don't think TSP is 50 years old ... Large giant rackets ... tiny tiny tablespoon size rackets ... weird stuff ... I think this video shows Carbon cloth ??? I don't know what to call it ...

Video in question ...

Google Translated Gobbledegook:
[Violating racket] After hitting all the upper plate with carbon, [Table tennis wisdom bag] Ping Pong

Description:

It's WRM's Gucchi. Today, I played table tennis with a super outer racket that uses a special material for the upper plate. What performance does the carbon material enter the uppermost surface of the outer and inner layers? I made a bold racket that I could not use in the game. It can't be used according to the rules, but what does it look like if the surface is 100% carbon?

Yandex Translate Russian GobbledeGook:

[Violation racket]if you hit all the boards with carbon,,, ping Pong

It is guchiii of WRM.Today, I tried to table tennis with super outer racket that made the upper board a special material. What kind of performance will it produce when the carbon material enters the surface that comes to the top most in the outer and inner?I tried to make a drastic racket that can not be used in the game. It's not a rule, but how do you feel if the surface is 100 per cent carbon?

Enjoy!

Hi Def-attack You can purchase XVT blade with Arylate Carbon outer layer on Aliexpress from the shop by the name XVT International Sporing Goods.
It costs approximately $47

Not a new idea, and unfortunately, illegal per ITTF rules since this carbon isn't technically within the blade:

2.4.2 At least 85% of the blade by thickness shall be of natural wood; an adhesive
layer within the blade may be reinforced with fibrous material such as carbon
fibre, glass fibre or compressed paper, but shall not be thicker than 7.5% of the
total thickness or 0.35mm, whichever is the smaller.
