Hi,

Peeled-off parts of a blade's top-veneer, while taking-off an old rubber on a friend's blade... The glue seemed to be rather strong, and was a challenge taking it off, even after using Acetone (Propanone).. This is the first-time something like this has happened to me...

I'm feeling bad that about it, and want to repair the damage..

Upon practicing some Google-Fu, I came across several options ... Wood-Filler was the most commonly suggested one... I'd like to know which one ... I'd prefer one that's rather simple to apply and low-cost..

Hi, i used a surgeon cutter and coffee wood sticks for two blades(one is a hobby blade, the other DHS W312)

You can try with the coffee sticks (I found some of them that are made from hard wood), by cutting some rectangles and completely removing the damaged veneer in the selected areas. The blade will look a bit strange but fine and if you're not a top level player, it might have the same feeling.

Or you can completely replace the hinoki layer, there are online shops that sell hinoki veneers.

Attempted the coffee sticks method, but was a epic failure ..

wondering if there any sort of filler that I could use, and once the filler has hardened, I could just sand it to a level ..

Would a standard Epoxy + Hardner work .. Something like Araldite Epoxy, perhaps .. I happen to have some on-hand ..
