Anybody seen this? The science behind it is interesting. I saw that Truls Moregard is supposed to be using it.

It does look interesting, and I think it's always good to see new innovations! It's going to take some convincing that it's actually going to play better though

I know it's going to be harder to cut the rubbers, and you won't be able to swap rubbers from one blade to another. I'm also not sure if all rubber sheets will fit, as some are cut bigger than others.

It looks cumbersome.I wonder if they will make a defensive blade like this model but twiddling should be awkward too.

If you have :cash: :cash: :cash: to invest in the Cyberspace,go for it,.....if you want to remain unnoticed, do not go for it,..... :D

I think Stiga's problem here is that a lot of people are going to be interested in it, but not willing to pay the money to give it a try. 220 Euros is costly for something that you have no idea if you'll like. If you used this thing at a club or tournament, you'd definitely get noticed, and probably a lot of requests to hit with it.
Maybe that's how you afford it, rent it out to people to try. :D

Interesting, but one of the corners is right where the blade usually hits the table on forehand returns. Seems like a weak point and you would need rubber overhang to protect the corners. At least you don't need much edge tap on this.

Actually, one of the selling points is that cutting rubbers will be EASIER. All straight edges, no curves.

Why would a corner be any more susceptible to damage than an edge? The material’s the same.

I think it will be much harder. With a regularly blade I can just run the knife around the smooth edge, all the way around. With this blade, the cuts at every corner will be tricky, as they're not straight but a rounded corners. It seems much easier to mess up, but I can't be sure until I try.

I guess maybe higher pressure? Same force, but focused on a single point rather than on a shallow curve.

I don't think this'd be much of an issue though. Even if you knick one of the corners, it shouldn't impact playing performance all that much (just like a normal blade)

Truls Moregard is in the World Chsmpionship finals w Fan. Game is tomorrow. Pretty impressive for #71 in the world. You have to wonder if the Cybershape that Truls switched to a month ago gets any credit. Certainly one hell of an advertisement for the thing. I’ve got to imagine they’ll sell fast at any price right now.

It's a cool looking blade but Fan Zhendong wasn't impressed! :D

I'd just run the straight lines past the corners. No need to make the blade stop exactly at the corner. After all you don't care what happens to the off-cuts, right?

Just saw this, haven't watched it yet:
