What's your favourite 7 ply wood blade?

Speed rating doesn't matter.

My list, in order, is:

Donic Persson Powerplay (oddly enough, as I didn't like it at all 12 mths ago. Thin, moderately fast for a 7ply with excellent feel. Koto top. )
Yasaka Max Wood (Thin and fast with good touch. Limba top. CR coating)
Nittaku Septear (Best feel. 7 ply hinoki)
Clipper CR (Nice, but the Max Wood is better. Thicker too. Limba top)
Amadeus (Again, nice, but I've used better. It doesn't really *feel* like a 7 ply blade should, but more like a more flexible 5ply with a thin hinoki top ply that doesn't really do that much.)
Darker 7P-2A (Septear has better feel. 7 ply hinoki)
Clipper/Clipper WRB (Slightly softer feel than the CR. Limba top)
Avalox BT777 (It's like a cross between the max wood and the clipper. Not as good as either)
Optimum Seven (Crap.)

I've only tried three...
Sanwei V5, Amadeus, Clipper WRB (briefly). Amadeus wins hands down, followed by Clipper then V5. V5 also have two red layers & WRB like the Clipper.

I thought you're getting Amadeus as well? What say you about Amadeus?

Have you tried Persson Powerplay Senso? How much difference compared to Powerplay? I saw at denis the ratings for Senso V1 is higher than the Powerplay and more importantly the ones available here is Senso and not regular/original Powerplay.

I have two 7-ply blades: Tibhar Power 40 (sucks !!! Top-ply was separated!!) and Donic Persson PowerPlay V1.

Tibhar Power 40 actually not that bad. It feels like a harder 5-ply blade with good dwell time. As fast as Persson PowerPlay V1.

Persson PowerPlay V1 is a good blade. It is stiffer compared to classic 5-ply blades but with soft feel, so dwell time is sufficient. However, it is sitting around in my shelf because I am used to 5-ply blades. It is not that fast, either lower end of OFF or upper end of OFF-.

actually, the one I have is a senso V1.

I don't think the difference between the two is significant. It's just a hollow handle...

I can't say I tried many 7 ply blades (only Clipper and P700), but according to my experience with p700, it's great. I sold it, but probably will get one again.

I have played with three seven ply blades. 729 BOMB was a great blade with a pencil handle. The Killerspin Kido 7P was a great blade that I just didn't know how to find the right rubbers for, greatly, greatly overlooked blade, and company for that matter. Alot of the killerspin stuff is actually pretty good. Septear, is a hit or miss proposition.

it's weird, i've only used a few 7 ply blades. My favorite is the Darker 7p2a, very light and very good feel. I always end up getting a 5ply

Would you mind providing as much info on the Yasaka Max Wood and, if you have tried it, the Nittaku Active 7? Specifically, the handle size, feel, and balance. Please wax rhapsodic.

I have only own one 7ply blade. It is the Darker 7P2A and must say, it certainly lives up to my expectation. In fact, has been playing with it solely for the past couple of sessions. Very good. Nice feel and control yet imparting all the necessary power I need for a winning smash. This blade is fast becoming my main weapon, making most of my lovely one ply Jpens redundant for now.

Cant belive I forgot Joola Bomb extrem with MCD compound that was one fast blade no flex at all great for away from table two looping
