Thanks for the check in!

I haven't posted an update yet because, while I am loving the blade, Cole and I are still working out which rubber is going to be best for me. I have now tried Inspirit 40° 2.2, Inspirit Quattro ultralight 40° 2.2 and both of them were significantly to firm and fast for the speed of this blade.

So I now have him sending me a sheet of LKT Pro XP 2.2 to not only soften things up quite a bit but also lighten things up as well. For some reason that neither he nor I can explain, the Quattro ultralight was only 2 g lighter than the Inspirit! So something was very wrong there. The end result was that my blade is almost 190 g -- which is much heavier than I wanted it.

I have pretty high hopes and expectations that the LKT Pro XP will solve both the weight and the speed/firmness problem. Stay tuned...

Glueless, whatever you do dont make the head size smaller. Better to shave the blade thinner. The wood is quite dense and hard i think it should be ok even to go as thin as 8mm or 8.5 at least. Mine is 9 and with a fast rubber i think is plenty fast. I already made mine too compact, in search of a lighter weight, so the handling is a bit off.

Check out my signature.

Although, I will probably be replacing that Inspirit with LKT Pro XP.

LOL

It is good for EVERYTHING. And once I get the correct rubber on it it will weigh at or just under 180 g which is where I like it.

Don't worry, I won't be shaving anything. I don't have any woodworking tools and don't intend on changing my blade at all. I ordered it the weight that I wanted it to be and got it at the weight that I wanted it to be so I am not for seeing any changes. It's just a matter of getting the rubber dialed in correctly!
