Post subject:  Galaxy yinhe 1986 1 ply kiso hinoki-200# 10.5mm
Since Im true EJ :oops: and there was lots of questons to compare my american Hinoki WRC 1 ply 10mm with 10mm hinoki and only one was some old 9mm darker I had to get an real thing. :D

So here is;

Here is Compersation 1 ply Kis hinoki v 1ply WRC American Hinoki

Speed: Both blades wery fast hard to say if one is faster / so speed same

Feel : Kiso hinoki feels soft as WRC medium soft

Vibration: Kiso Hinoki none WRC little or none

Dwell time: Kiso hinoki biger dwell time

Spin- Slow loops both blades wery spini hard to tell difference
- Loping mid distance speed same but spin / with Kiso I had more curve on the ball were WRC is more of slite curve so I guees Kiso holds the ball longer.

Play close to table apears to me not much difference here both blades have great control.

So my conclusion is 1 Ply Kiso Hinoki is havier but not bad with ruubers on 172 grams as WRC 166grams .
I must say that looping with Kiso was of great consistance and ball was hanging around mid of the table were same looping pase with WRC were around the back of the table and sometimes i would overhit the table.
In aggresive play both blade are awsome but Kiso shows litle bit more control.
I gues on the end is personal preference for players that love 1 ply blades.

looks like a good part of the money you pay goes toward the case... :twisted:

i might not have the chance to try the senkoh... i told the guy he could come and get it on wednesday because i was planning to hit with it sunday and/or monday but turned out i didn't get to at both times.... :cry:

Interesting that the Galaxy blade offers even more spin than the Western Red Cedar! Sounds like a blade I need to try. I wasn't even aware that Galaxy made a single ply blade. Where did you get it?

On that spin it seems to me that it does as were ball lends on table in fast relleys as well the loop with side spin makes a lot more curve in bal flight were WRC is just slight curve possible is that WRC is slight faster and that would be the reason why.But both blades feel great I just had to prove that to my self EJ-ism is never ending virus :shock: :D :D

Sounds to me purger like you prefer the Galaxy blade. Interesting! But of course you would expect something special for the price. I think you need to start knowing this one intimately than keep on hussying around :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Wow! Nice!

Now you can relate with all the Kiso Hinoki fans here. :) :)
It is really something isn't it -- the power and stability yet with just right soft feel giving high dwell time. And only 6 grams heavier.

purger, nice blade :D Your review got me itchy all over :oops: I now have to counsel myself that I don't play SH and to keep away :P Still I need to ask. Which blade did you buy? The 200 or 260 year old?

Mate #200 and it says in the name of the post LOL :D :D
Its big diference in price betwen 200 and 260 I dont now price for 350but would be wery expensive

I think the #200 in the title gives it away :wink:

I saw those blades on the yin-he website... thought about bringing them in as well, but the price blew me away a little... Then there's always that niggling feeling whether it's really 200 yr old, and how do they know... it could be 199yr old and you'd be ripped off :lol: It's also quite unusual for a chinese manufacturer to get a blade made in japan, and sell it under a chinese brand name... I have NO reason not to trust Yin-he though, I've found them to be honest l... and the fact that purger thinks it's a good blade only confirms that :wink:

I agree with you Haggisv 200,260 or 350 may as well all be only 50 -100 yers old. How could we tell the difference by taxture of wood.
Maybe older is bit darker like that Kokutaku 3008 that is 300 years old looks bit darker or not:

Sorry, missed the 200 in the title :oops:

I doubt very much anyone can tell if a piece of blade comes from a 100 or 200 or 300 years old tree. Main thing is does it play well. Does it suit your play? If yes, then that is what that counts, I suppose.

Woodworkers would know the pic of the one blade with a light colored section has what is called "sap wood".
Sap wood usually has a different density from the darker wood.
If I was paying that much money, I would want consistant color weather light or dark. :)
