I got my hands on a Wavestone(solid handle) today and compared it directly to the Korbel. Used the same rubbers"
F/H -Inspirit 2.0
B/H-Inspirt Quattro 2.0

I must say that that the Wavestone was faster and had at least the same control if not more than the Korbel. It seemed to have better balance on attacking shots than the Korbel.

actually, it's more like comparing Laphroaig (Korbel) to the Famous Grouse (the 1.0L version) (Wavestone).

The former is sort of boring but well behaved and pleasant while the latter is cheap and will get you drunk rapidly, but you'll regret it the next morning.

I'm not sure if Laphroaig 10 YO is well behaved but Kobel is.

Think Edradour or Glenroathes is nearer the mark. I dunno Wavestone at all, but I know Famous Grouse. I'll not be touching it!

Violin - Royal Lochnagar
TBS - Glenmorangie (BTY)
Cayman - Springbank/Talisker [almost but not quite]
Rendler - Lagavulin or Brora
Block of wood - bourbon, e.g. Jack Daniels

I played with both and have found the Korbel to have much more control with sacrificing some power. I will stay with the Korbel
