What would you say is the best and most tacky rubber. Also would a tacky rubber be good for receiving very spinny serves. Also what hardness of sponge would be best for the control close to the table

Most tacky rubber's is DHS Huricane 3 (varies slightly depending on version - national, provincial and etc.), Friendship/729 Battle II/III. Which one is the best...I don't know, there will probably be a lot of opinions here..I recently started playing with "tacky" rubbers, but I don't go to extrem "tacky": tried Butterfly Glayzer 09c, Donic Bluegrip S2, Dignic 09c...so far I liked Dignics 09c the most: the tackiness is not too high, the catapult effect depends on the speed you put in (S2 was a bit too much)..Yes, tacky rubber for short game at the net and hard sponge is very good. However, choosing a rubber that is too hard and too tacky affects further play: moving to a mid distance or doing a 2nd or 3rd topspin requires much better technique and fitness as there will simply be too little speed.

More hard sponge = more control = less speed with same effort

If you refer about the thickness of sponge depend the hardness of sponge, for example if you use Chinese rubber more thicker don't translate to more speed but spin yes. No Chinese tacky rubber more thick surely more speed and more spin using the same no Chinese tacky rubber.

Thank you for the great advice. How would it compare to tenergy 25 which I have used and is good for blocking but is sensitive to spin.

STICKY RUBBER TO ENABLE CHINA TO WIN ALL FOREIGNERS WITH EASE.

https://youtu.be/Un0fuMEKnVM

Sticky rubber was happily born at Friendship rubber plant upon request of China international champions September 1972. The sticky effect tends to fade in a month, except for Double Fish sticky formula.

TGY is grippy but not sticky like Chinese, TGY have spring sponge so is bouncy. Chinese rubber isn't bouncy because don't have spring sponge, Chinese rubber have hard sponge that needs booster or speed glue to soften the sponge to increase speed & spin, Chinese rubber is sticky.
