nice review mr carbonman! my suggestion was based on that our top club (and state) pro uses this - he changed from tenergy 64 over to the omega 4 as it works as a good replacement. it has a fair bit more "spring" than that tenergy 05/replacements do.

Slight update on Omega IV Pro:

The sponge is a little harder than I initially thought. It's roughly the same hardness as Vega Pro but more elastic. It's not ideal for me as it 'smacks' (due to the ball not sinking into the sponge much. maybe the topsheet is hard also ??? - I don't know how to judge these sorts of things) when I do medium to fast loops. I prefer the ball to sink in more and produce a softer feel. This 'smacking' feel is similar in kind to what I have felt when looping with Vega Pro and Hexer HD.

Yesterday, as the day wore on, I gradually got used to it but it is still a little tricky to do medium loops off heavy backspin with as it doesn't 'grab' the ball all that well.

I have used Vega Europe and really liked it except that it did bottom out a bit back from the table. I imagine Omega IV Europe is probably similar (???).

I don't think so. I read omega 4 europe is quite a bit harder than vega europe, a true fh rubber.

BTW, I am looking forward to try sigma europe on fh.

I've tried Omega IV Euro and Asia. The Euro version made me lose interest very quickly, Asia is another story. I love all about it and on the top of everything it is much more durable than the Euro. Many people would call the Asia hard - and it is when you touch it, but the dwell is longer maybe because the Euro feels bouncy and jumpy.Since few days I have a Sigma pro, but so far I can only say that it's a bit slower than Omega IV Asia

That's interesting. Is the topsheet different between euro and Asia?

It says here that all the Omega IV's have the same topsheet.

Thanks carbonman

So perhaps the durability issue lies in the sponge, or else the lifetime should not be too different...

I have used Sigma Pro and 04 Asia extensively and my findings are the opposite. Sigma Pro is faster and has less dwelltime than 04 Asia.

I have tried all the Xiom rubbers. the Sigma series are the fastest, the Omega is the next and Vega's the slowest. The omega 4 Asia uses the same pimple structure as Vega and Omega pro's but a softer top sheet with a little harder sponge, but with the softer top sheet feel's softer. I like the Omega 4 Asia better than the others, it has more dwell, some what like Ten 05, and has good spin. I don't know why Omega 4 Asia is not more popular ?

Yes, tops must be the same, but only after couple of weeks and there was already a spot in the middle of the 4Euro, meanwhile I am using the 4Asia for more than two months and the top looks perfect. Tomorrow I'll do some more detailed tests with the Sigma Pro,cause it's very new for me, but surely I would have already noticed if it was faster then the 4Asia. BTW I also wonder why the 4Asia isn't more popular..
