On our review website there is a big buttload of reviews on rubbers. There is a great review on Higher III Vs. Faster III. But i cant find the Focus III anywhere on review website. So can anyone post a review here or on the website would be excellent. Also, if possible, could it be compared with Higher III Jap. Sponge and Faster III germ sponge.

this would be very nice thanks!

I did want to review the focus series a few months back but alot of faulty sheets made me give up that task.

Heres a brief summary of each

Focus 1 - The best imo, Fastest and spinniest of the 3
Focus 2 - Stiffer sponge and topsheet with extremely low throw, suited towards players who prefer to play the serve and kill game. Basically H2's little brother.

Focus 3 - I got them when they first came out so I'm not sure if 729 has changed the design on them. My sheets had completely non tacky topsheets with a super soft 30 sponge. Ball sank right through the sponge everytime so most of the time I was hitting wood. By far the slowest of the 3.

Focus 1 is very similar to the Higher III but much faster. Focus 2 is closer to Faster III but with a harder sponge and topsheet.

hope that all helps a little.

Wow, nice summary of the focus rubbers LawOCG!

Focus III have changed a little in that they no longer come with the plastic protection sheet attached, but some with a paper sheet, very much like the most japan/euro type rubbers.

The sheet I tried (a brief hit with someon else's bat) had a soft sponge, but didn't feel anything like 30deg (more mid thirties). I felt to me like a good control looping style rubber, and could produce a lot of spin. Of course I'm unlikely to loop the ball nearly as hard as LawOCG

Focus 2 has a low throw and is slightly tacky . Has a long pips topsheet and hard sponge. Indeed is one of the fastest chinese rubbers. Is springy and spinny but difficult to master if you are not used with low throw rubbers. It is like a Sriver L with lower throw and tacky.

Its nowhere near as low as the Focus II, It's one of the rare happy medium rubbers. Medium throw, high speed and spin with good control. Question is how consistent is the quality.
