Im thinking of trying the G666 2.1mm on my forehand. I'm a chopper and use 64 2.1mm on my forehand atm with JSH blade.

I heard Hou Yingchao uses G666 but im not entirely sure. Do you think it is suited for chopping?
Also what are the differences between g666 and 64 and is G666 a china rubber that needs to be boosted in order to act properly.

it is MILES away from t64...

quick way to determine if you want to switch...do you attack third balls, is your serve a weapon, do you agressively push like it is an attack do you chop more then you counter?

G666 is superior in my opinion in these areas.....

T64 is better at blocking, countering topspin far from the table, and passively fishing......

after your first hit with G666 you will hate it....it takes time...

all rubbers act properly with or without booster they just feel different....booster makes the sponge ofter and the rubber faster and more bouncy.

Hou hasnt used G666 since the speed glue ban....the most recent picture was of him using haifu

666 is hard, sticky rubber. I find that type of rubber wonderful to chop with on FH, but very, very difficult to loop with from mid distance. If you want to chop off the table or serve/3rd ball kill only it would be a great option-probably much better than any version of tenergy.

Although I've never played with G666, I had played with G777 and G888 briefly. Both G777 and G888 have rock hard sponges (harder than Hurricanes and Skylines); and I believe G666 has the same sponge. If you are coming from soft sponge Euro rubbers, it will take some time to adjust. Both G777 and G888 are also very sticky/tacky (more so than H2) and are good at producing spinny services.

I've never used G777 but G888 is a lot harder than G666. I have seen G666 marked up at 38, 39 and 40 degree.
