Blade: SOULSPIN DEFENSE
FH: Spinny stuff
BH: Spongeless reviled stuff
Having some issues with my elbow, so swapping to a more classical defense scenario for awhile.

I usually use a pretty zippy forehand rubber for loops, fishes and chops now and then.

But for the mean time I'd like to use a slower rubber, one specifically good at chopping and pushing. I have quite a few of the older chop rubbers - juic 999 elite defense, tackiness chop, etc. Yet those all seem to lack surface grip in comparison to things like tenergy or mx-s.

Is there anything new being made that has a super grippy top sheet with a relatively slow sponge? Or are the older generation rubbers seen as just as good as they were?

Victas 401 about an good as it gets?

TSP Triple Spin Chop is very slow, IMHO. Should have lots of spin, I guess ('triple'!), but I took it off my blade too quickly to find out.

LKT Pro XT black topsheet on 1.0 mm.HRS sponge is as ''spinny'' as 401 and Triple Spin-Chop.
Not to forget Sauer Troger Secret Flow 1.5 mm. black.

If you want slow and spinny, many tacky Chinese rubbers would do that nicely.

Ckylin. Lots of really spinny Chinese rubbers, but this is the SLOWEST I've ever come across. Pretty much useless for a lot of things, but might be OK for chopping.

Blocks well too and absorbs a lot of pace because of the slow sponge.
