Hello. After two years of table tennis, and some lessons, I think I'm settling on a style. I like to push and block on my backhand, pretty close to the table, and be as aggressive as possible on my forehand. I'm currently using An Appelgren AllPlay blade with Hexer Duro 1.9 on both sides. I'm mainly looking for more control, but more spin on my backhand. So maybe I'm just looking at a backhand rubber. As a side note,Inoticed that some players are able to chop with Tenergy 05. I won't be chopping or pushing much on my forehand, and won't really be chopping on my backhand, but mainly aggressive pushes. Would T05 be an option for me on both sides? Any blade recommendations for my desired style? Thanks heaps! |

It's very early for you to 'settle on a style'. You need to be able to change what you do depending on the circumstance and your opponent. What you're describing is an inflexible approach to the game. Therefore I would not suggest changing rubber or anything, but instead working on your skills, as you have been. You need to learn to do pushing, flicking, looping and chopping on all wings, as to be prepared for all circumstances. If you want to get more spin on the backhand, you should learn to contact the ball with a finer brush, earlier and with more confidence. The reviews of Hexer Duro suggest that it's very controllable, high throw and spinny. I think anything you buy (ESN or Butterfly) will be worse for you. Keep your rubbers. |

Before going to Tenergy 05 I'd increase sponge thickness to Max. Don't know why you'd want thin sponge. If you want to change rubbers for the backhand I'd suggest Baracuda or Rakza 7. Iskandar |
