Hello All respected members,
can some pls compare or share his/her experience with aurus and rakza 7 for fh and bh?
i have Viscaria blade, and i have experience with mxp/mxs and find them too fast/bouncy to handle though spin is good but i cannot control/tame them.
i have also tried vega pro but find it quite slow often.

or any other rubber suggestions which has sufficient control, speed and spin [i find t05, mxp, mxs too fast for me and vega pro too slow often in various stokes]

thanks,

I've tried MX-P and I've tried Rakza 7 (and Rakza X). I didn't think any of them were too fast or too slow. But then I don't use a Viscaria.

Below is the list of Tibhar Rubbers branded as Aurus:

Aurus Prime
Aurus Soft
Aurus Sound <--- I have used this rubber before and it is very very soft, high spin, high speed ( vs Rakza7 )
Aurus Select

Rakza 7 is a mid-hard Yasaka Rubber that is ESN made ( Tensor ) with high control + high spin + medium speed.

Rakza 7 Soft is the softer sponge version of Rakza7 and is noticeably slower but with even better control than Rakza7. Aurus Sound is softer than Rakza7Soft but has slightly higher spin and speed ... but it is possible that control is degraded on Aurus Sound when compared to Rakza7Soft but feel Aurus Sound is better for better players but not for beginners.

Hi vishal,

I don't play with inverted anymore, but when I did, I have used Rakza 7 Soft, Rakza 7, Aurus Sound, and Aurus (briefly).

From what I remember, both are in the same vein and there is nothing you can do with 1 that you can't do with the other.

For minor differences, the topsheet of Rakza is harder and grippier than Aurus, while the Aurus sponge is harder. Rakza has more spin while the Aurus is faster. But the differences are not night and day.

About the soft versions, I agree with man_iii that the Aurus Sound sponge is very very soft. But I find the Rakza 7 Soft to be the faster and grippier of the 2. In fact, I would say the Rakza 7 Soft is faster than the regular Rakza 7 (on the low-mid impact range). Maybe the Aurus Soft (not Sound) would be comparable to Rakza 7 Soft.

what is the purposes of using soft and very soft rubbers [less than or around 40 degree of ESN hardness ]....can these kind of rubbers be a very good combo for bh/fh if i paste this on viscaria [which i think is a OFF+ and quite hard blade as per my experience] since spin is great from these rubbers and on the other hand speed of the blade is great.

Soft rubbers tend have good feel on the ball since they are soft and the ball will sink into the rubber a lot.

I use soft rubbers because most of the time soft rubbers are very lightweight.

I have seen some modern-defenders using soft rubber due to ability to chop-block and FH chop combined with ability to topspin and surprise attack. Also the soft rubber is very good for cut-serve or heavy-spin serves and returns that the opponent is not normally expecting.

Depends on your game a lot. One of my colleagues uses H3Neo for SMASHING heavy-underspin... which a lot of people will say it is not possible....  ... but for him it works ...

I just re-read your post. If you are fine with the hardness of MXP and MXS and want something slower, go with the Rakza (not soft).

Not to pick a fight, but (to me) harder rubbers have better feel. More direct, linear feel, predictable, faster on the high end but less bouncy on low impact, better control.

yes i can control/vary my stokes to handle the speed which comes from the hardness of the rubber but i want to avoid bounciness of the rubbers[like mxp] which is unpredictable..
i can understand that aurus and rakza both are medium-hard rubbers and speed [both are not bouncy] is almost same, which will be good for me.
But among the two which one is better in following things
1) generating more spin,
2) lifting the underspin,
3) feel and control of the ball.
4) durability.
5) smashing/flat hit [which i suppose in turn depends upon the grip of the topsheet]

generating more spin - Rakza
lifting the underspin - Rakza
feel and control of the ball - Subjective, Aurus feels more "direct" which to me = control, but also faster, which = less control to others.
durability - Rakza
smashing/flat hit - Aurus

thanks in advance.

I would agree. For me more speed means a loss of control. :)

I guess you wouldn't want MY feedback.. In short, they ALL work, more or less... The Rakza 7 felt slightly softer than the MX-P, but for me the difference was subtle. (Also, I didn't exactly test them back-to-back - the Rakza 7 went on about a year after the MX-P came off). Pushing was OK, topspin drives were OK, loops were OK, blocks were OK, lobs were OK, player wasn't that OK.. - maybe it was the blade I use (blades seem to make so much more of a difference than rubbers do), or maybe I'm just not very sensitive about rubbers. On the bright side, that means I don't have to spend much money buying rubbers, on the flip side it makes "reviews" very boring because I can't think of anything interesting to write. I got the MX-P because I wanted to see what a super duper fast rubber was like - maybe it was like they say on the packet, it's too fast and uncontrollable unless you're a pro. Horsefeathers… It might be if you're using a fast carbon blade, but definitely not if you have a ALL+ wood blade.
