What's up everyone? Since I can no longer find Battle 2 in medium hardness, I switched to a sheet of red Hurricane 3 Neo that had been used on my backup blade occasionally. There are a lot of things that I like about H3N and I might start a separate thread about it. One thing that I don't like is that the top sheet is already scarred with small blemishes after one month, although it was only played inside and cared for.

I use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe the rubbers after practice, and I noticed the color getting on it? You can see it clearly in the pictures. Has anyone else had that with red or black H3N? I did boost it if that matters. ImageImage

I wouldn't worry. All rubbers degrade over a month. Play until you feel the need to change.

Try cleaning with a bit of water and the bare hand. And use a plastic tacky film or simply a plastic foil the same that you use to pack your sandwich.

Thank you for the cleaning advice guys, but my actual question was if anything similar has happened to other H3 users. I only mentioned how I clean it to avoid questions like "Are you using alcohol", "Are you using solvents" "Are you doing it standing on your head" etc.

I've never seen that. I always use a cleaner sponge, and if the colour came off the topsheet, the sponge should show the colour over time, but it doesn't.

Additional question, has either of you used a red one or just black?

I used both black and red before, and my method of cleaning is just water , vapour of my breath, wipe with my hands and protective cover sheets. Never experience bleeding colours from it. ( i think the microfiber cloths somewhat abrasive to grippy rubbers )

Mainly black for me, but have certainly used red plenty of times too.

I do seem to remember that red has a lot more dye in it, as black is close to the rubber's natural colour, so getting some bleed off the red is more likely.

Actually the natural color of rubber is white or very light brown like a typical elastic band. That's why tires were also white in the beginning.

I have used a lot of H3, mainly black, but also some sheets of red, and I can't say that I have ever had any colour bleed issues like that. Or from any other make of rubber, although I have yet to try my green Tuttle Octopus.

Actually, pure rubber isn't black. It's amber (like honey). The usual coloring agent in tires (and possibly black table tennis rubbers) is carbon black. Red requires a dye or pigment other than carbon black, so I suppose it'd be more likely to fade or run.

Incidentally, I imagine counterfeit DHS rubbers would be FAR more likely to have these problems than real rubbers would...

If you're using a microfiber cloth on your H3 Neo - how long does the tackiness last? Maybe you're rubbing off whatever they put on the surface to make it tacky.

The rubber is still very tacky after almost 7 months. I suspect that those who say tackiness fades don't know how to take care of their rubbers.

It was bought from a reliable source and the authenticity code checked out.
