There used to quite a bit of it on aliexpress, if I recall at least until last year some time. Now when I search for it cannot find any on aliexpress. Is it discontinued, has it been replaced with something else!

Thanks, Id never been to the eacheng site before, seen it mentioned on this forum a bunch of times.

Is there a regular and xp version of the rubber though?

The "National Version"? (i.e. without the packaging..)

GH Sport is one of the Eachengs, by the way.

I tried this rubber once.. I was very impressed by the packaging. And then I put it on my scale. Good grief...

I am a big fan of Dawei 2008 not the XP version. I play it in 1.5 and 1.8 thicknesses. I found the thicker versions too heavy. :o Sadly :( (for me) the 1.5 and 1.8 versions of Dawei 2008 are no longer available.

I used the XP2008 Super Power on my BH for YEARS. It is one heck of a control rubber. Nearly bullet proof, heavy, solid, consistent, oxidizes quickly, lasts hours and hours... cost $8 USD for years.

It is a very middle of the road control oriented rubber just begging to be put on a developing player's bat.

I frequently recommend this rubber for this purpose, or for a back up bat on a budget.

The "Der_Echte Special" I so often pimp on the forums (mostly at TTD) is a new Yinhe 896 blade ($16 USD), a new sheet of Dawei XP2008 Super Power ($8) and re-use the FH rubber from a bat when you buy a new rubber and change it ($0) to make a grand total of $24 USD before shipping for a very serviceable backup bat that is offensive control oriented.

I find it that when I "Gear Down" and use such a bat for a few months, I develop better touch, am forced to make better shot selection, and forced to construct points better, and am forced to set up and chose the moment to end the point better.

I know, such things are not flashy when you can buy a 968 with Dignics for $1,000 USD and end the point like yesterday, but every time I "Gear Down" like that for a few months, my play level improves.

Another thing the "Special" is good for, is that instead of recycling the FH rubber from a previous bat, one could buy a new LP rubber and "Goof-Off" with this setup. I find that one develops some relaxed learning and touch in "Goof-Off" mode, so there is value there as well.

Well said D_E. Although I have never used the XP version of Dawei 2008, I am sure its a very good rubber too. I initially bought Dawei 2008 and like it so much. It's a good all-round rubber and does everything well for me. Paired with Bomb Talent OX pips it is a very effective "Goof-Off" (as you quote) combination. Perfect for my game and  for opponents below, on par and even above my level of play
