I am in need of a forehand rubber to put on my Tibhar Stratus Power Defense blade.
I use my forehand in the main to loop, block and rarely smash. I play mainly at the table and don't twiddle (rubber backhand long pimple).

What rubbers would you suggest? Hard sponge, medium hard sponge or soft sponge?

Available rubbers forehand:
-DHS Neo Hurricane.
-Tibhar Aurus Prime.
-Butterfly Tenergy 80 FX.
-Tibhar Evolution FX-S.
-Donic Bluefire JP03.
-Hexer Powersponge.

Hi,

Of the available options you've listed, I would say Hurricane Neo ... However, since you're using a Def rated blade, and if you playing aggressive looping on your FH, you MAY find it lacking in speed. If you play, mostly close to the table, it should work for you, for most parts.

T80FX would be my next choice... good control.. However, if T64 or 64fx is available, I'd pick that over T80FX ..

Blade: Stiga Defensive Classic
FH: Victas V>15 Extra 2.0
BH: Stiga Vertical 20 0.5
I used that blade for a while, I liked it for defense, I never found a fh rubber I felt great with. I found that I needed pretty fast fh rubber to score winners against some better players. I'm not super advanced, with good technique I'm sure it could be done. I used fast-arc G1 which was alright. I tried rasanter R42 which was probably too slow/soft.

Hey Dragon, what did you best find in the end for this? I’ve moved from a Defplay Senso for something a bit stiffer to the table and liking it so far.

Started with the G-1 which wasn’t amazing, and currently on the Sieger PK50 which feels quite nice with the harder sponge. 388D-1 OX pips feel nice, will try DTecs at some point.

Where did your experimenting lead to, and did you end up changing again to the JSH?

Cheers

Hi Vinnie.
Sorry for my bad English...
I used on my forehand, Butterfly Tenergy 80 FX.

I tried these long pimples rubbers: TSP Curl P1-r, Dr. Neubauer Desperado, Donic Piranja, Dr.Neubauer Trouble Maker, Tibhar Grass D.TecS, Spinlord Blitzschlag, Spinlord Zeitgeist and Yinhe Neptune, the best Tibhar Grass DTecs 0.5 mm.

I did not go back to JSH, because it is a very heavy blade.

Recently I left the long pimples and went back to inverted rubber on the backhand.
