Good morning all, long time no speak! I hope everyone is well.

I'm looking for some advice on choosing a forehand rubber and wondered if you could all give some suggestions?

I've been using Nittaku Fastarc G1 in 2.0mm on a Joo se Hyuk blade all last season.

I've now switched to a Victas Yuto Muramatsu blade as I wanted something similar to the JSH but with more control.

The fastarc G1 is an old rubber now and there must be some superior alternatives out there that have been released since?

I want a forehand rubber that will suit my style, I'm a modern defender who will attack at all distances from the table on my forehand, as well as chop, fish and counter loop when forced back from the table.
I also tend to get into a lot of over the table pushing rallies where I will really be digging the ball when pushing to force errors or to make it difficult for the opposition to 'open up'. I feel I need something that is really good at pushing with lots of control, but also doesn't negatively affect the rubbers ability to do all of the other shots I play, I also like to open up myself during pushing rallies and I like to third ball attack off a spinny serve.

I feel the fastarc G1 is good in all areas but it feels something is missing and I can't put my finger on it.

Any suggestions for rubbers that would work? Any of the rasanter series or something like that? I'm open to any suggestion!

Thanks!

No rubber does everything well.

The best pushing rubbers for me are traditional Chinese hard and tacky rubbers which would then mean you must change the rest of your game.

I think Fast arc is listed as one of the tenergy 05 alternatives right? Or a newer hybrid one....

Do you want tacky? Catapult?

Try listing what it is about the rubber you like now.

HIgh speed, spin on a hard sponge sounds like every top-of-the-range product out there.

MX-d?

Maybe you could try one of the softer hybrids like jackyl and hyde. It´s the same hardness as G1. But a bit more modern

I play Rakza Z. It gives me a good speed to spin ratio. Has great over table play and a good block. I is a great topspin rubber for me. I don´t defend so don´t know about that ...

Carels how does Z compare to a boosted hurricane? I have been eyeing the Z a while. :cash: has held me back.

I´m not gonna lie. H3 provincial has a much more nasty kick especially on topspin. But RZ is less demanding and has a much safer bounce. It´s also faster when using less force.

If you have the fitness to play H3. Go for it. I´ve had 3 back surgeries and my technique is to sloppy. So i don´t to prevent shoulder and back issues

Changing your blade will also change how the rubber performs, so G1 may work better for you on the new blade or worse.

G1 is still a well regarded rubber after all tenergy 05 is old. You could try Tenergy 19, rasanter R48. Etc etc. Just decide on the hardness you need and there are lots of good rubbers

Just wanted to add: just because something is old, doesn´t mean it´s absolete.

G1 is one of the best allround rubbers out there imo

Try a Battle 2! Good in everything. And cheap.

The prov with blue sponge I like the most.

Kind Regards!
