Post subject:  Inverted yet insensitive to spin

I am just wondering if there any inverted rubbers that have the playing characteristics of tenergy 25 yet less sensitive to spin or am I looking for something that doesn’t exist.I appreciate it’s all about technique but im struggling with really spinny serves to my backhand. I play with 1.9 sponge and was wondering if a 1.7 mm sponge would make any difference. I block reasonable well with it and flat hit/drive I don’t top spin/loop. I have tried to use short pimples in the past but just didn’t suit my game.

This might be too much of a change for you, but if you don't like short pips, you might give a half-anti like Friendship 804 (1.5mm sponge) a try.

Didn’t know there was such thing as half anti. So what does it play like - the cans and cants?

Nittaku Goriki Kaisoku is significantly less sensitive to spin than other inverted rubbers. It plays almost like a short pip. Search for it here in the forum to see what others had to say about it.

I also have problems receiving spinny serves to my forehand or backhand, so i started to use slow rubbers or killing spin rubbers such as long pips or anti, but doing this i lost my backhand weapon and also i am not good performing with those rubbers enough, so i tried to find another rubbers normal inverted but can't be much damaged by spin, so far i tried Rakza 7 Soft and now Xiom Vega Europe, both are good against spins, but not perfect yet, so i try to give little skills to handle spins, i still feel that either i train to fix this issue with spinny serves, or just keep testing many rubbers and ruin my games.

I always found Mark V and Sriver to be quite insensitive to spin, especially once it's worn in a little.

Best inverted yet insensitive to spin >>> Isn't that called "anti" ? ;(

The older and more worn an inverted rubber the less sensitive it will be to spin and they can almost turn into anti. I found this out at club level when confronted with an opponent playing double inverted who had no problem with spin. On looking at their bat the rubbers had worn to virtually no grip.

So maybe just leave your oldest sheet of tenergy 25 on the blade and don't clean it much

Gambler Reflectoid was kind of like that, but I think it's no longer made. Few years ago people talked about Spinlord Sandwind, which was/is labeled as a 'half anti' too ( I never tried it, though).

Yes that true, I forgot about that one! I think it mainly worked because it had a thin sponge that was quite soft... so it would just bottom out on medium-high impact, making it very insensitive to spin. So something like Donic F3 Big Slam might be similar with a thin sponge, as this has an ultra soft sponge.

Have you tought of a very tacky defensive rubber?
Butterfly Tackiness Chop
Andro Backside C
Victas V 401

They are super easy to control and you can pretty much chop or control any serve.
Pushing and looping is super easy too.

Just beware tho, it's very very slow.
