I live in Preston about 35 miles away from Manchester. I've never seen any table tennis activity like these clubs or heard of any in my home town. Remember, this is the Express you're quoting ;)

Table tennis interest is increasing though especially in schools and junior level. I think tables in parks would be great too, although the cynical part of me can see them soon getting vandalised or used as seats for groups of people to hang about at rather than actually play the game :(
