This was a good match. Yes I watched all of it. P.O.S. ITTF won't let me embed it.

Sato uses Nittaku DO Knuckle short/medium pips, Nittaku Goriki Danshi blade and Nittaku Hurricane 3 Neo.

Goriki Danshi blade is expensive.

The Google translate of this page is very interesting about chopping above the table like I do (and Sato does). I have to try the DO Knuckle. https://ameblo.jp/tabletennisstore/entr ... 38228.html

https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/betting/nevada-bettor-wins-10k-on-50-10-team-ping-pong-parlay-1994930/

A William Hill bettor turned $50 into $9,676 on Saturday after hitting a 10-match parlay on Ukrainian table tennis, aka ping-pong, on his Nevada mobile sports betting app. The gambler played 10 favorites, and they all won: Skachenko (-135), Bochkovsky (-135), Marchuk (-160), Mosiuk (-135), Ivashkin (-145), Ivchenko (-135), Kurbrak (-135), Telnoi (-160), Hrytsyienko (-145) and Michchenko (-165).

I hope ITTF didn't pay too much for this lame logo. Seriously. People on Fiverr would do a better job than this!! It's terrible. The negative space between the two tees looks like a down arrow, which may be where WTT is headed. The color is atrocious. Looks like Halloween. Reminds me of a vampire bat.

To me the logo isn't sophisticated like a TT logo should be. It's more a logo for e.g. monster truck sports.

Each player has a separate ball they handle with their hands and they remain on the same side the whole match.

What was the light underneath the table for? Is it some sort of disinfectant?

It is a term not likely to go away soon. If you google "junk rubber" there will be many answers.
One defination;

Definition: In table tennis, junk rubber is an informal phrase used by many players to describe rubber that they find awkward to play against, such as antispin, medium pimples or long pimples. A lesser number of players will also include short pimples in this collection.
The term began as a derogatory description of rubbers that didn't behave like normal rubber. Some players still use the term in this manner, but many others simply use the term as a convenient way of explaining that an opponent is not using normal rubber on both sides of his bat (e.g. "My last opponent was using junk rubber on his backhand.").

Also Known As: funny rubber
Examples:
Watch out for Max, he uses junk rubber

In our area it's quickly going away from being an accepted term, as it creates an unsavory tension between "loopers" and the rest of the players. Thanks to all our area club owners' efforts in the recent years, we have successfully discouraged all newbies and old salts from openly using this term at our facilities. We want everyone to respect every player's choice of equipment by not calling it "junk". The fact is this derogatory term has no place in table tennis in the year 2012... Those who insist using it make local sport promoters' job such as mine much more difficult than it should be.

Well, as long as people are free to use the phrase "junk rubber" to put down players using certain rubbers ( very similar to racists using certain words & it is perfectly legal in many countries ), I don't understand why certain people are harassed to no end for rightfully calling these hatemongers robotNazis or those pips players (with no self esteem whatsoever) who had accepted such abuse (since 1983), spin(e)less cowards.

about multicoloured rubber instead of plain red.

I thought that was table tennis X or whatever, I forget the exact name. Everything old is new again.
