So I played my first League match after 5 months of tennis-only (recreational and competition). I wasn't really prepared since I only played two short training sessions before that encounter. I got a higher ranking for this season and I still play in the second highest Provincial division. I missed the first three encounters and made my debut against one of the better teams of the division consisting of three C2-ranked players (~usa2250) and one C6 like myself. I should have won the latter match, but lost in the fifth set. Still, I was not unhappy about how I was playing, but improvement is definitely needed! :whew:

On one of the other tables, a nearly 10 year old kid was playing who has a C4-ranking (~2200)! It appeared that he is the son of Marc Closset, who used to be an international player and who was coaching his son. Here's a short video fragment of Marc Closset (the father):

I saw the match where the 10 year old defeated a 2250 player… amazing, I think we will hear more
from him!

Never mind the son - Marc is amazing, I really enjoyed that compilation thank you very much.
Such fast hand / wrist action - very late too for great deception - look away shots - the man is a real entertainer and crowd pleaser!

Hey all,

I think I'm back

Last year I wasn't so much into table tennis because we played in a lower league where I won most of my matches without doing much effort/training. And from April till now, I played tennis intensively. But in a few weeks it's table tennis time again. And since we managed to get a promotion back to the higher league, it will be interesting!

I bought two new FH-rubbers, so my set-ups will be:

1) JSH-blade + Donic Bluestorm Z2 1.9 + Donic Spike P1 1.0

2) JSH-blade + Tibhar El-S 1.9 + Butterfly Feint Long II 1.0

I'm very curious about the new rubbers. If they turn out to be too fast or bouncy, I still have one sheet of Bluefire JP02 in a decent condition.

My first training sessions in more than five months will be next Monday/Tuesday!

I hope you have all been fine and... see you soon!

Indeed, I wasn't there at the tournament. Hundreds of other things to do :whew:

First training session will probably be next week, although i'm also doing a tennis tournament (the last one, promised! ;) )

Haven't touched my blade since April... :o

My new FH-sheets (Bluefire Z2 and Tibhar EL-S) have arrived yesterday, can't wait to try them!

Yes, we should do that. Somewhere in november/december?

I'm not an EJ, BTW. I stick to rubbers longer than most forum members here

I'm an EL: equipment lover
