It was not like I had a great combo that led me to higher ranking and that I threw that away... There were always a few problems with every setup (you can't have it all).

But the most important is that I am, at least for the moment, tired of playing with frictionless anti, tired of stopping the momentum as soon as the opponent places the ball to my BH. If I could I would twiddle a little more in matches, but that is just too difficult for me. Another path is to go to an anti with better attacking possibilities but that would require a completely new gameplan. And with short pips I play about the same as I would with a more offensive oriented anti.

It's interesting reading this I felt very similar at first playing at the table with my Dtecs. You described it well about momentum. I'm not sure if glanti can play like I do right now but I assume it can tbh. It takes a little time to get confident with it but if you can get coaching and multiball with it you'll learn it in no time

Another reason I tried the SuperGlanti again, and in 0.8 mm, was because I have 3 sheets unused (I bought too many). But on this Re-impact blade 1.2 mm would be better to take awat the balsa effect. But with this anti it is not really possible to hit the ball unless it has back spin. Even the slightest topspin makes it very difficult to ad some speed to the ball. And I wantto be able to hit back weak shots to my BH.

I am thinking about trying DTecS 0.5 mm on BH, it is suposed to work very nice with this blade. Also Barna Virus2 0.5 mm is interesting. I wil probably do this after our last league game for the season, by the end of March.

I will try to make a few clips of me playing with this blade and with short pips, it is rather different than with anti on BH.

If by weak you mean almost float then you can definitely do that with the Dtecs 0.5 as I can do it with OX. Can it really not be done with a thin sponge glanti? Like if you really hit hard through the ball vs a floater (assuming it's a bit higher than the net though)

It can be done at drills and if you are really prepared for it or practice it a lot. But you have to very careful and chances are you get slammed back in the naxt ball. First three times you do it opponent will be confused, then he (or she) will just go all in for a winner unless you can put some speed on the ball. And that is where it gets really difficult :). So it is not a stroke to build a gameplan around. It is much easier to do that with a sponged lp, or even an ox.

Thanks for the reply.
i agree that each rubber/bat combo cant give you everything.
im having my best ever season but im thinking of using a very low throw s/p on my f/h as i tend to overhit.
with butterfly speedy po i can twiddle and play agressive b/h aswell.however you lose spin with that rubber.
ill see how it goes.best of luck with the last few games

I think if you continued with the flanti route, you would never be satisfied. It is very intelligent to change the setup and strategy.Well done!!!

Now this strange season is comming to an end and so is this blog. I got rid of most of my physical problems during the second half of last year. And most of them were related to me using the wrong glasses at work :o .
Almost a year ago I realized that my private glasses (spectacles) are made for being out door and some reading. When I work I sit in front of the computer, especially during the pandemig. And I had to watch through the lower part of my glasses, where they are mede for reaing, not for long distance looking. This made me lift my head slightly forward and upward, putting my neck in an awkward position. I have had these kinds of glasses for some 3 years, and I realized that my neck problems started soon after I got them. But it was just a year ago I started to connect the dots...
So, I ordered new glasses made for working in front of a computer and attending to meetings (this is someting my employer is paying for, I just ordered). And very soon after this my neck and shoulders were getting better. Also my lower back and hips were getting better.

So , for the moment I have no physical problems except for being a bit heavy and slow :?: ...

And for that reason I find no reason for continuing this blog, so I will instead move over to my other blog. And I do have several reasons for doing that... I am about to do some major changes in my main game plan and setup: viewtopic.php?f=58&t=21956&start=1170

Interesting about the glasses.
Did you come to that conclusion yourself or was it from a dr ?
I had a similar problem with bad posture.
Took ages to ascertain that though.

That was my own conclusion. I was very happy when I figured that one out...
