The body can rotate anti-clockwise, so right-hander's left side turning across and then away from the table, while the entire body clearly moves forward.

So do we really have to choose? As a typical American I want to have them both, the rotation and the forward movement.

Here is a slightly extreme example.

There is no choice.

I want to hear what everyone has to say first

Since we are on the topic of backhands here is my latest effort. Notice the dog wanting me to throw the ball when I pick up the balls! It feels like I am getting good power from the bowing motion but comments welcome. Maybe a bigger bow?? I see whip is a bit restricted but my wrist cant bend back more than 30 degrees.

Hey Maurice,

It's good. You can always lean forward more on the backswing and bend your knees some more. The thrust is good and your arm structure is fine.

Looks like you have an awesome dog and it's always good to be up to date with the washing.

Are you going down for the Aus Open? It would be a good excuse to catch up with family and watch Ma Long play.

Hi Brett, I am heading down to the snow on Wednesday from Byron. I could go down to the australian open but it is a long drive so I am not sure. Depends on the snow weather etc. If you are in town any chance of a lesson? That would be a big motivator!

You can always go to the snow, but this might be the only chance to see the greatest ever in action.

I will be coaching the Indian team at the Aus Open, so no chance for private coaching this week :D

I have to agree with this. It was really eye-opening to see Ma Long, Xu Xin, FZD, DN, LSW CM and a guy named Brett Clarke last year at the Copper Box in London. It is not until it is demonstrated that you appreciate the difference between the merely talented amateur and the truly consummate professional, as Linus said when playing fetch with Snoopy.

If you get the chance, take it!

Nobody else has anything to say it seems. I guess it is too obvious to mention.

I'm continually trying to find the fastest way to teach strokes and this video is an example of where I'm at today.

Brett, you should also make a video on the touch the knee thing.

It was going to be my next video. I should have it done in a few days.

The knee/shin touch things was one of my favorite things to come out of the camp.

Mine too! It was pretty insightful.

With regards to match situations, however, it seems to be much harder for me than the BH thing. I'm not sure whether I implemented it correctly even once.

If that's the case, you just have to watch the video!
