Is the coronavirus scare impacting your area or TT club?

I canceled tickets to China for my wife and I. Will miss my lessons there.

I'm in China now. And yes, people are hysterical, all TT clubs closed.

Things around coronavirus aren't getting any better over there, are they?

THINGS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE.

No good prospects fot the Tokyo Olympics anyway. The antivirus madication still undiscovered.

Why worry, no Russian team anyhow..

By the time Olympics comes around, this virus should pass. Like a typical "flu", this Covid 19 should pass when the season changes, and it gets quite hot in temperature, especially in Wuhan in the summer. However, this virus or the mutated versions of it, will likely return and stay. Vaccines will one day be available, maybe part of the "flu shot"?

The Chinese athletes won't be able to train much though.

The Chinese TT team probably won't return home for awhile.

I dunno.. this isn't the seasonal flu. Did SARS go away when the "season changed"? I think the Chinese team is rich enough to spend time away from China for the next few months. Probably train in Sweden or elsewhere, with their coaches and ball feeders in attendance.

I don't know much medicine, I don't think diseases simply disappear when there an abundance of infection hosts even if the climate changes ... also isn't pneumonia and flu more likely to spread in hot humid conditions?? .... Quarantine and finding a cure and later an effective vaccine is probably the best we can hope for at this point in time.

Don't travel to places with high tourist or traveller populations. Stay safe and TT on !

A good many country would not send out their own people to Tokyo Olympics unless an effective anti-COVID vaccine is developed and distributed worldwide.
All the Asian Regions adjacent to China are now struck with the deadly infection, Korea and Japan included.

Dude , you need to stop scaremongering ! Vaccines take TIME to develop and need to be TESTED extensively to measure safety and effectiveness. YOU can't simply snap your fingers and have vaccines ready !!!

Current time to a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine is 18 ... EIGHTEEN MONTHS!

Currently, multiple anti-viral ? like HIV treatments and others are being tested to see if there is any cure for treating current patients of COVID-19. Even like a 50% cure rate will be good.

Nah. No point in Igor travelling to the Olympics in any case. No Russian teams attending since they've banned them for doping.

Ask the folk whom have had a relative die and they will tell you it is more than a "scare". Maybe GB will be banned like Russia for doping too after the Mo Farah revelations!

That seems pretty mild (the substance was legal, after all) compared to the Sochi Switch. Which was state sponsored and executed.
