Did you guys ever have any particular blades or rubbers that you particularly liked or at least had good results with but despite that let it get away for some reason or another? Also, is there any discontinued product that you firmly believe should either still be in production or you wish they would reboot the product?

I had a Gergely T5000 years ago, it definitely did not suit my style so I gifted it to a friend, but now that it's been discontinued and my skill level has risen I wish I had held onto it for testing purposes ;( Similar construction blades exist such as Hinocarbon Power, Primo Carbon, Xiom Ignito etc but none of them have the same uniquely classic head shape and size of the Gergely. Perhaps the best option nowadays is to approach custom blade craftsmen

I had an original Butterfly Defence Alpha, which was a beautiful blade, which I sold to a forum member. I do regret that, as they're hard to find, and it was such a lovely blade to use - I wish I still had it! I hope the forum member who bought it (you know who you are!) is enjoying it!

The Hallmark Ultra balsa blade. When Steve Hall was making them, they were 67 to 73g; now they are in the 90's. Had to switch (to Neubauer High Tech Plus)

The original Re-Impact Tachi blade...I've always preferred it to the new/current ones, even though they're still good.

I sure do - have been playing with it for the last 6+ months.

I had two Nittaku Noveliars. When I look back at those blades and see the lovely handles, and the overall construction I kinda wish I had one just to hang it up in a frame. I also had my most significant win with those blades. I got rid of them because I was having a hard time grinding out wins at the club against players I beat consistently very badly. In retrospect I wished I had toughed out the matches at the club and seen if there were other significant wins to be had.

I’m currently tossing up between Stiga Rosewood VII or Butterfly Schalger Carbon Light.

Both brand new, within weight preference and around the same price.

I would probably use the RW7 more, though I have this nagging feeling the Schlager Light could be one that got away. Should I feel this way? For resale value I don’t think Schalger Light would be as valuable as say Schalger Carbon.

I can’t get both - which would you choose?
