I was looking into the rules but could not find it.

If you start with a racket, you have to play the match with it.
You can only switch when it's broken.

But how about from match to match? You can play one match with one blade, and when you meet a next opponent can you take a different blade?
So when I play LP but I find someone also playing, can I use a non LP blade?

It is there in the ITTF handbook, as far as I can tell not strictly "rule of the game" but rather "rule for international competition". Still, most local tournaments I have been to, also observe the rule.

Regulations for International Competitions is section 3 of the handbook, starting on p.41 of the handbook.
ยง 3.4.2.4 (p.51) says:
Quote:
A racket shall not be replaced during an individual match unless it is accidentally damaged so badly that it cannot be used; [...]

The operative part pertaining to your question is "... during an individual match ...".

I know the rule is there you can NOT replace DURING a match.
But nothing is said for in between matches so if it's not forbidden it's allowed :).

The reason I ask is I would like to use a normal pip-in racket when playing against LP players, and use my LP on the other ones.

Thx for the replies.
