I have finally got my Emperor set up since my move and have forgotten how to change the language from Chinese to English on the display. Would appreciate help with that. Also, anyone know how to turn off the sound?
Thanks,
tOD

Hi tOD, to change the language from chinese to english on the remote control, you need to press the 'down' arrow which will move the flashing cursor down on each press until you reach the very last entry. Then press the 'minus' and 'plus' arrow to toggle between chinese and english, then press the 'up' arrow to get back to settings. Hope this helps... :)

Hi tOD, sorry but don't know how to turn off the sound but another user said he opened the remote control case and snipped one of the wires to the speaker which did the trick... ;)

Ho tOD, I know its been a long time since we talked about the Super Emperor but wondered if you still have it and if you had any more problems with the wireless control. I have had this for 13 years and the remote has started to become non responsive where some of the keys just don't want to work. The rest of the robot is in perfect condition and a shame to just bin it as it worked very well. Have tried to contact original seller in China but no replies so wondering if you or anyone else has any info on how to fix or replace the wireless remote controller. Many thanks ;(

I don't have the equipment you are talking about, but remote controllers tend to gather a lot of oil/grease/dust in them. If it is like a DVD remote at all, if you can open it up, you should find a rubber sheet, on one side of which will be some kind of electrical contact. If you can clean this off, with even a light detergent/water mix on a cloth, you may find it restores the controller.

Or use Q-tips and rubbing alcohol on the contacts.

Many thanks for the tips, so I tried some alcohol and cloth and this seemed to make the remote more responsive but now the start /stop button seems to just stop and not start so probably just needs to dry out. Under the board there are some sealed small switches for each button so these are not accessible. I will keep the remote in a warm place and try it out again later although the alcohol should have evaporated by now I would have thought.

There are various conductive paints for repairing circuit boards, which can be used in small amounts on a remote. Something like this may restore the contacts.
