Post subject:  Newgy 3050XL power supply spec.s?

Anybody can help me with a spec.s on Newgy 3050XL power supply? I seem to misplace mine in a recent move (yes, I know I will find it at some point in time - it is in one of those boxes!). In the meanwhile, I am probably getting just another one. I spoke with Newgy and they said it is 12V 7.5A one. Can somebody please confirm that (maybe even a pic of Newgy's power brick, that would be much appreciated!). Just a bit paranoid about frying 1K+ machine if I misheard or wrote down something wrong. Thanks!

If 12V is correct, then get a 12V supply. Something with lesser amps will probably overheat, but exceeding the amps rating is OK. The other thing to worry about is the connector - make sure the size and polarity are correct. Reversed polarity might cause damage. A 12V 7.5A supply is a rather large one.

These robots are yet available in most countries outside USA... they're coming to Australia within the next few months. Hopefully some of our USA friends here can help.

I would suggest you get the Newgy one, because not all power supplies are regulated, and unregularlated ones means the output voltage can change depending on the current draw. As mention already, the connectors are not always the same polarity, so better safe than sorry.
