This one does not appear to be common in TT, but this what I managed to develop , which strangely coincided with me starting TT. Waited for this discomfort to disappear on its own, but after 8 months it actually even got worse.
And gets inflamed after each game session.
Started Ibuprofen and icing a month or so ago, but it seems to be at constant, no better, no worse
very annoying.

Of course all medical advice on the internet is suspect. Have you seen a physician (prefer an orthopedist) or had imaging.

I am worried that I may have had a hip labrum injury while pivoting for a FH. I first thought it was a muscle injury, but after 8 weeks it is not improving even with rest. I am pending a physician evaluation myself :envy:

My experience: Bursitis is slooow to heal. It helps if you reduce the load on the joint (more specifically, on the muscle/tendon which rests on the bursa in question, but that is usually the same thing). Medication has little impact if you don't do daily exercises (stretching and general movement without much load ; swimming can be a good thing).

I suspect that it is difficult to reduce the load much on your hip joint. :(

Diagnosed bursitis means that you have seen a physician, I guess. If you havent improved at all after a month using NSAID (ibuprofen, diclofenac), see them again. There may be "collateral damage", or perhaps steroid (cortisone?) treatment is required. Again, in my personal experience, medication has limited effect without suitable exercise. Your physician will know whether that is relevant in your case also.

Life is a bitch sometimes.

Yes, Just booked another visit a few days ago.
To a physician that specializing in sport injuries.
First visit was just to a general practitioner, they are so stupid as far as sport injuries are concerned.
She told me top wait for a year, it should go away.
Well, it has no intention to go away.

Sounds like cortisone shot might be on order

Seen physician again and scheduled cortisone shot.
The thing is killing me, it's actually getting worse.
Not playing much tennis anymore, it seems to be particularly bad for the condition - lots of hip movement I guess.
Found that biking is not that bad.

When I play, I just stand there, feet are wide apart and knees are bent - very funny.
But it allows me to reach for the ball on both sides.

I became very sloooooooooow, not me at all.

The funny thing is I still win some... people have no idea they just think I have changed my style....
