Post subject:  ITTF New Rules & Regulations - where are they?

I was searching the ITTF website for an update on the Rules & Regulation, that may have changed at the 2019 AGM. I can't them at all though, only the 2018 handbook. So Io though I'd look for the minutes of the AGM to see which proposals had been passed, could not find this either.

I too have been looking for the minutes of the AGM & BoD meetings. I believe that a video of the AGM is on the ITTF web site.

The only change that I can find is the addition of other bright colours to the non-black rubbers, which would not come into effect until after the 2020 Olympics and needs to have the exact colours allowed to be determined by the equipment committee. Then there is whether manufacturers will make all colours of the rainbow for all their rubbers or pick a single colour for each model or thickness.

I guess you already saw this page, but just in case you didn't...

At least a few "Resolutions" in the last document linked there, but I haven't had the time to digest the detail. Happy reading, if you will!

Thanks for that, but I have seen that already unfortunately. We are looking for the resultant minutes from the meetings. It is funny that the rubber colours resolution has had some publicity, but not any of the other resolutions. Oh, there was a video of the AGM which would answer some questions, but I am not motivated enough to watch that, and I don't think it includes the BoD meeting which had some resolutions as well.

I had a look at that page this morning. Most of the suggestions are amendments to existing regulations, and pretty much none of it affects us, unless one happens to be involved in international competition. Stuff like playing order in the Teams event at the Olympics, or a move to allow Veterans to play in non-ITTF sanctioned international competitions (which is normally not allowed under rule 3.7.1.2), or a change in the number/size of advertising on the back of players' shirts at international competitions. The Chinese have a proposal to allow purveyors of alcoholic drinks (other than the "distilled" variety) to advertise and sponsor (I suppose this would mean Budweiser and Heineken and the like..).

But the proposal to allow rubbers other than red (plus black) isn't among them. Maybe it hasn't reached this stage yet.

There are 3 separate meetings that can change things, roughly:
AGM for rules of TT
BoD for rules for international competitions
EC other stuff.

I think you may have found the BoD info.

SOME UPDATES CAME UP
https://documents.ittf.sport/sites/defa ... inutes.pdf
Quote:
Ms. Herweg suggested the following selection of events for Rubber dismantling testing:
• 2019 ITTF Challenge, Croatia Open
• 2019 ITTF Golden Series, Hong Kong Cadet & Junior Open
• 2019 Team World Cup in Tokyo

The Equipment Manager clarified that the event list is open for revisions and the report of
the first event might determine the direction of the testing. Ms. Herweg highlighted that
there will be no rule change up to Tokyo 2020, ensuring that any new racket control
rule will be implemented only after the Olympic Games.
