In 1995 ITTF attempted to ban speed-glues. The robotNazis revolted & got the speed-glue ban repealed almost immediately.
Yet in 1995 Eberhard Scholer attempted to pass the Aspect Ratio change (supposedly to limit the problem of treated (microwaved) pips as rule at Tianjin 1995 BGM. It failed. But Scholer secretly passed the Aspect Ratio change as Regulation in Durban n 1998. Once Scholer knew how he can sneak in changes as regulations, he also passed the Frictionless Pips Ban

Let us look at some facts, shall we. I for one, never claim or ever claimed that there are zero problems of players treating pips. I agree it is wrong because rules state that a rubber cannot be altered by user. But let us look at the flipside. There is a much bigger problems of speed-glues & boosters from 1995. For every player that treats pips, there are at least 100 players (more like 500 or 1000), who speed-glue & boost.
Which in is the serious health issue ? Definitely not the treated pips. But who does the ITTF repeatedly crackdown upon ? Just the pips players.
Why ? Because the robotNazis know the spin(e)less cowards not only cannot do a damn thing (because all ITTF councils are majority robotNazis & they can more powerfully make bigger noises about a small number of players treating their pips. The real pandemic in table-tennis is not treated pips, it is rampant use of speed-glues and boosters & zero testing at lower level.) but they won’t because the spin(e)less cowards continue to have this psychotic delusion that the robotNazis will accept them.

There are even legal glues that give a speed glue effect that lasts about a month or two ,   ....... the next treatment will be the ball,.... meaning the ball will look legal but there will be a way to change the behaviour of it,....resembling the celluloid era,.... I bet this is happening right now , folks,....

..... the cunning guys will always be ahead of rules,.... make a rule,ok,... you will have a brilliant mind to circumvent it, especially if this rule is absurd ,....

The ITTF does know about illegal boosters? of course,................The ITTF does know about frictionless pips around in lower leagues? of course ,......

The ITTF starts losing money?,...welcome boosters, welcome frictionless pips, welcome 38 mm ball, welcome celluloid balls,..etc,..etc ,......

For what it's worth, I think most of the agitation for ITTF to ban this or ban that isn't to "improve" or "fix" table tennis at the top levels of the sport. It's from what is happening at the lower levels of the sport - the hordes of enthusiasts that are very vocal about "pips out are bad" or "boosting is illegal", who go to lower level tournaments (or play in lower ratings level classes) and lose to someone using long pips or, if using long pips, gets beat by some looper who they feel must be "speed gluing". Enough of this, and they start talking to their national representatives, etc. This is the agitation that led to the aspect ratio rule, the frictionless pips ban, etc. The top players don't care - they're not the ones sanding their blades concave to squeeze in an extra 0.2mm sponge. It's the lower level players who might do this, or worry about people doing it.

CHEATERS' FARM. WHAT A SHAME IT IS.

TABLE TENNIS is now growing in public opinion as dishonest and "deceptive" sport as compared to other sporting activities. Most casual players are known to use deceptive materials a lot.
Sufficient it to look into the LARC pimples directory, it all looks like Devil residing there.. Table tennis is now getting too far from a respectable athletic sport. It is now much like a gathering of bloody crime

-- KILLER
-- VENOM
-- THE BAD
--INFERNO
-- BLOODY FIST
-- FEINT
--

and many more of rubber items with repulsive or stupid names can be found on market, the unworthy products to discredit our sport in public....

We have now forwarded a request into ITTF address to exclude all the afore mentioned rubbers from LARC as soon as possible. Manufacturers should re-name those unworthy and stupid tradenames for a different appropriate name. .

"PERMANENT SPONGE" RULE
Good to hear a novelty Rule to govern the use of sandwich rubbers is now underway.
The core idea is that you cant use any of sandwich rubbers unless the Red Circle sign is stuck on the retail pack. This is to avoid players constructing some weird rubber with some no-name sponge underneath, those weird sponge materials ITTF will disfavour strongly..
A honoured IOC official, native of Japan, is the mastermind behind the Reforma. I am not a Boss, but only a humble Pf in structural engineering.
CHEERS.

Thanks Igor. This is good .
I hope this is for pips out sandwich rubbers also.

Only thing I do not understand is as to why the sign should be on retail pack. Shouldn't the sign be on the rubber itself. That way if someone removes the sponge from a pips out sandwich rubber, it would be easy to know ?

THE MANY COLOURS EVOKE MANY TROUBLES.

Independent Expert Group have now presented Project of Colour Reforma for ITTF expertise.
The project is to maintain fair play in the times of the oncoming "colourful fever" on market.

MANY COLOURS -- MANY TROUBLES.

TOXIC RUBBERS NECESSITATE TOXIC COLORATIONS

igorponger: I'm getting pretty tired of your claims that certain rubbers are 'toxic'. It's quite disrespectful for the many users of these rubbers, who are using rubbers which the ITTF have deemed to be legal.

There are legal or illegal rubbers... the term 'toxic' is just your personal opinion, and offensive to some players.

I always wonder if this is a parody account. Hard to take Igor very seriously.

Wow, Sjan comes here too! I haven't visited OOAK in a long time. Seems like some things never change.
