A lot of the vitriol being spewed by one of them about the other is what we're discussing here - conspiracies. Not particularly shy about making stuff up on the fly as well, it seems, and doesn't care when shown to be wrong, he just goes ahead with the next one. And the conspiracy theorists lap it up - it's like manna from heaven. They've been spewing out this stuff ever since President Clinton's term. Remember those "militias"? We'll be seeing more of them over the next few years, I think, they'll be coming out of the woodwork.

Gee.. did I really post that six years ago??? Given what happened two years ago tomorrow, I guess I must've been prescient.. It WAS a rough four years.

Last night I got a surprise visit from one of my neighbours.

He comes across now and again only this time he brought one of his mates.

I have YouTube on my tv and it just happened that a debunking clip came up on the front page.

Well for the next 20 minutes to half an hour i had an interesting debate with his mate.

I could tell he was extra smart regurgitating and explaining THEIR science to me.

Highly impressed I was with his education or should I say indoctrination.

I pointed out the inconsistencies of being able to see Chicago from across Michigan Lake and right on cue he came up with their refraction theory lol.

I left him with the documentary 200 Proofs the earth is flat by Eric Dubay to go and research.

He actually has an open mind but I doubt he will change his mind.

I will post again if I ever see him again.

He tried to tell me that when ships disappear over the horizon, they are in fact sailing over the curve.

I replied get a P1000 and as long as the ship is not out of its field of vision it will come back into view.

Ya still gotta love them, the sheep. Sheep need love too lol.

He's still at it. Talk about indoctrination! Forget ships - you can actually see the bottoms of the pylons dipping beneath the horizon.

Okay, here's my problem. My last visit here was over three years ago. Back then, Mac was totally convinced the earth is flat. OTOH, Iskandar not only believes the earth is an oblate spheroid but has the material to prove it. Today I drop in and discover... Nothing has changed!!! Even the arguments and examples being used are exactly the same as were being used years before.

Which leads me to ask: Why bother? What is the point?

I just popped in here whilst waiting for the Spain v Scotland Euro qualifier to start lol.

Anyway. there are always going to be people who believe their spherical earth theory irrespective of the conflicting evidence.

On seeing the Chicago skyscrapers from across the lake - there was a guy who took his boat maybe 500m from the Chicago foreshore.

He turned his boat around and filmed the skyline all the way back to St Josephs and you can see the skyline all the way back across the bay.

Now I've watched maybe a hundred or so FE vids mostly from Flat Earth U.K who went around 50 or so towns and cities interviewing random people in the street.

There was one guy in particular who i remember the most.

He was interviewed in a Midlands city from memory.

He was asked what woke him up. His reply went something like this.

He said he was born in Northern Ireland, and he would often stand at the most NE point of the island.

When he was 15 or so he noticed he could see two small islands to the Northeast in Scotland around 15 miles away.

He then realized what he previously believed was a lie.

He then went on to say he became a school teacher and he had to give up teaching as his conscience would not allow him to teach a lie.

Anyway, its a fascinating discussion whatever you believe. Good at least for killing time.

But... What is the definition of insanity? We're on page 61 of this topic. 61!!! How many times have you told the Chicago skyline story? You keep telling the same stories over and over and over again. It makes no difference. None, Nada, zero, nowt. But that won't stop you telling them again. Same for your flat earth nemesis. According to Einstein, you're insane.

I watched the video of the bridge. It is not what you see when you visit a long bridge.

Here is a video of the same lake showing no curve.

It looks completely different from the one posted.

A reasonably fair and balanced discussion.
