I actually came across this video first. Quite compelling.

So will Russia become a vassal state to China? I first heard that being argued maybe 6-7 years ago. Russia may be big, but it's population is small, and shrinking.

I've seen this poem referred to many a time but I'd never listened to it before. Went looking for it because I watched this video:

To my surprise, Kipling spent all his adult life in Britain and in the US - I thought all this time that he spent at least his young adult life serving in the British Army in India.

Some uses of bamboo.

Thanks for that, shaolin!
I've worked with bamboo for 30 years making instruments (many different kinds), furniture for house and garden, and all sorts of other things, while also going to schools and introducing children to bamboo and running making workshops. Maybe bizarrely, I do this in the UK where bamboo doesn't really grow - I just got involved with it 30 years back and very quickly realised that it's the most fantastic material, infinitely adaptable.
Using bamboo makes sense - Elora Hardy's video explains why.

Interesting, and relevant to table tennis perhaps
.

I've been watching a lot of this channel as of late. This is the one I just watched, it covers a more recent time period than most of the other videos. I'll post a few more of his videos over time, some are really funny too.

This is VERY interesting. I had NO IDEA this existed. A Soviet/Russian Superman? When I came across this, I thought it was going to be something produced in the Soviet Union. But apparently not - it was made in the US. And raised a LOT of ire in Putin's Russia, because it portrayed the Soviet Union "in a false light" (i.e. Stalin was evil, there were gulags, etc.).

For those who haven't come across Roman (the person who posted this video) - he's a young Russian, grew up in a town called Chelyabinsk in the Urals (which is, apparently, terribly polluted), has been YouTubing for several years now and fled Russia for Georgia when Putin announced the Draft. His channel's pretty interesting.
