Spend half an hour or more thinking of railway tracks.

Now if the earth were really spherical they would have to have a built in curve to them.

If you were to take a piece of string and place it along an individual track of say 40 metres long and pull the string tight it would show railway tracks are made level or horizontal.

It should be the highest in the middle and taper off at each end if they were fabricated with curve in them, lol.

Steel tracks are of course perfectly horizontal.

You have of course never been close enough to a rail to determine that such is not the case.

Remember from 3 1/2 years ago? I do.

Not to mention "perfectly horizontal" does NOT mean "perfectly straight". Just another case of flat earthers getting their definitions wrong. I can't believe he's still flogging this point, it's been debunked so many times.

Have you ACTUALLY DONE THIS to see if it's true or not???? No????? Then why do you even mention it? Thinking about it for half an hour proves nothing, other than you don't know what you're thinking about. 40 meters isn't going to cut it, of course... try a couple of miles. Of course, you'd NEVER be able to stretch that string tight enough or be able to tell if it's straight, but you COULD use a laser theodolite. You'd end up like poor old Gerund. "Interesting."

This is a very interesting talk with Bill Gates about pandemics. One of the things they get into is the Internet, and its role in the spread of misinformation, conspiracy theories, etc. At around 8:40 he mentions Flat Earthers and why he doesn't think it's worth trying to debunk them.

Thank you, Simon7. Now we can all rest assured.

I sincerely hope, for your sake, that you meant your post as a caricature of the "movement".

In case you are serious:

As far as I can recall, every single reference you linked to (including the biblical one) has already been debunked in the course of this thread. One possible exception is the "antarctic ice wall video", which evades debunking because it "does not bunk" ; it does not really indicate anything except that it is difficult to make a good video recording in arctic conditions from a plane window, and that stupid-music doesn't help much.
  • Proving flatness with a heavily distorting camera lens?
  • Proving flatness by driving a winding track though a series of tunnels in a mountain range?
  • Taking worldwide organizations' logos as the true, unmodified representation of our world?
  • Insisting that every word in the scripture is meant literally, and reflects reality as described by the almighty, unmodified by men?
Seriously? This is just a roundup of every useless type of "proof" out there.

Good luck on finding something new.

This is the first and only post (originally started a new thread for it) by someone (Simon7) who I suspect has never played table tennis seriously. I really don't think that such things should be allowed to stand.
