It would be so cool to have a machine, where you can print your own designs of edge tape. Has anyone ever seen anything like that? |

You could probably do it with a color laser printer or inkjet.. the trick would be to find the right substrate to print on. Maybe vinyl sticker material. If you need it a little thicker put down a layer of double sided tape first, then the sticker material goes on top of that. Thinking of making some OOAK edge tape?  Iskandar |

Something like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/produc ... 46497.html (Apparently it's for printing cellphone skins, so it should work pretty well for edge tape.)  Check out that "store", they have all sorts of printing media, some of it comes in rolls so if you know what you're doing you can cut sheets as long as you need the tape, then set up your artwork to print a pageful of parallel strips lengthwise. This one's A3 size, should be long enough for edge tape, you'd have to slit it in two lengthwise to get it to fit an A4 sized inkjet printer. As I mentioned, if you need extra thickness use double sided tape under it, or even cloth/duct tape. If you don't want to buy 50 sheets, maybe something like this might be available from a local banner/poster/sticker printer (you know, those shops with the gigantic inkjet printers). They might sell you scrap pieces or offcuts.. Iskandar |

Or maybe use a label printer device that can print on adhesive PVC tape. This is used by datacenter guys to make custom stickers for data cables. Talking about price differentials, that brother machine is $30 in the US and £57 in the UK. That's Tenergy pricing. |

I could never find tape that's suitable for edge tape. Tesa in Germany make the cloth adhesive tapes that most of the big manufacturers use, but they're too expensive and demand too high an MOQ to make it viable. |

On my country it's around 67 EUR. VAT in the UK is 20% (included in the quoted price). So add 20% to $30 and that makes $36. £57 pounds is still double the US price (about $72). I can order from the US Amazon and add $16 delivery and customs and it's still way cheaper. |
