I haven’t played table tennis in several years now. My daughters are now 9 and 5 and I’ve thought about taking them to the club just to see how they like it. I see the news daily about some pretty harsh lockdown measurements coming especially out of the NSW area, and I always think of you guys and hope you are all doing well. Although I don’t live with the fear the authorities would like me to have of Covid I still have general concern for you all that I had gotten to know over the boards many years ago. Hope you all are great and in good health.

As of this week it has been QR code check in and out, mask on when not playing, hand sanitiser, antiseptic spray and wipe of table and ball, no hand shakes but elbow touch OK. This is for a club in rural NSW. (not Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong :) ).

That's pretty much the same for Adelaide clubs.

Masks - walking billboards of fear.

Really good especially from 21 minutes.

That may well be the least coherent series of claims I have seen in this context. He encourages the viewer to apply critical thinking, then he delivers statements which imply that "we did that critical thinking for you, so you don't need to worry about it."

Please, apply your own critical thinking to that video. It will be a revelation. I suggest you start with his proof that masks don't work. That is a fairly easy one.

A simple review of Pub Med or google scholar will show there is a wealth of medical scientific studies that show that masks reduce community transmission of covid

Masks certainly do work at reducing your intake of oxygen.

Also increase the intake of breathing in your waste air.

Lots and lots of bacterial build up too from wearing dirty masts.

Bacterial pneumonia and black fungus have been linked to wearing them.

School kids in the U.S who wear them for up to 7 hours daily are having quite severe facial rashes.

Never mind the emotional damage they do.

I have heard the Brisbane Table Tennis Club have taken it upon themselves to stop any non vaccinated person from playing at the club.

Not a Government mandate.

If true this is truly shameful.

Congratulated for taking away our right to play a sport most who play love?

They should be ashamed of themselves and i am sure many of the vaccinated who play there will share my opinion too.

Enough mac33, let's not derail another thread with this. :n:

I just hope you all are doing well. I went to the club for the first time last night. For the first time in 9 years actually. It was a breath of fresh air. I think they took appropriate precautions for a decent amount of time and as a club decided as a group that the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze going forward. They apparently never shut down through the whole pandemic but took decent precautions up front. I was glad to hear how they managed it and kept a club that teeters on the brink of closure fairly frequently viable. It was nice to get out and play last night and it was nice to see some old faces and a handful of new ones. It’s a great sport. I also learned how grossly out of shape I’ve become. I about lost my cookies on multiple occasions.

Huge protests currently going on in N.Z.

I am almost certain PRW is not there - unless to protest the protest.
