Hi. I never played versus a LP Chopper.
Next week I will meet one. With normal inverted rubbers I know what to do ....

But I started playing with LP myself. ox and I do attack with them.

What is a good tactic I can use?
I am not a heavy spinner.

Mostly play to the side which hasn't got the long pips. Do a topspin, then push one, and again or you an do consistent topspin attacks. Points is to play quick and safe. Surprise him, be unpredictable, vary your game.

I'll give opposite advice - play a lot of LP shots to their backhand/LP. Choppers love topspin and struggle with dead/unfamiliar balls.

I use LP myself and i'm not a very consistent topspinner. I use my LP to attack, of to setup an attack. But my attack is more speed than spin.

This also depends on their skill level. If you keep giving balls to the long pimples, they will always chop it back, regardless dead or loaded ball, as both can be chopped. Also, what does the "unfamiliar balls" expression mean? I killed a chopper with enormously fast and spinny topspin strokes.

If this is the case, use your long pimples to attack the chops with a little bit upward hitting. Long pimple hitting is more funky than ordinary chopping from what I experienced.

Yeah I love if they spin to my LP ox .. they than return my chopblock with backspin and than I attack with the LP .
I have watched some games on YT but he has a different playing style than me.



I think the games are to short to really understand the spins and effects.
I never ever played versus a chopper ...... not when I played 2 inverted rubbers, not now I use LP myself.

I'm assuming typical forum poster level here, i.e. not Filus or Ma Te. By 'unfamiliar balls' I mean that most of choppers/LP players practice their backhand against topspin. Just like inverted players typically (and somewhat justifiably) complain that they don't have enough practice against LP, the same argument applies to LP vs. LP matchups. At least that's what I see in my club and tournaments I go to.
