That's a good video, but it does not really describe the side-swipe stroke that some of use have mentioned here. It seems this player is trying to overcome the lack of grip with a very fast wrist action, which is indeed a hard thing to do (as they mention).

I'll try and make some time to show a little video of how I do it... I've been meaning to test the slo-motion on my new phone, and this seems like an ideal opportunity. ;) Whether I post it or not will depend on how 'bad' it looks.

Yeah, I was trying to answer the first question , it just took me a while to find this video again.....

Has any one post the side swipe with Chen Wiexing?

Ian

Yes, the side swipe stroke with Chen is stickied under the LP section.

i`ve posted this clip once or twice, so sorry if this has been seen before..the first incoming ball is always underspin

my best advice is not to learn the chen weixing side swipe as main means of attack...its good as additional alternative, especially for attacking short services with underspin as means of variation, but there is a more effective way of attacking faster as demonstrated in my clip

the bat should be slightly closed..try going down with your body/knees..move your wrist back slightly and aim to play a counter hit ball (no idea of the correct term in english lol :^) its the hit you do when warming up before looping with both forhand and backhand) with the ever so slight difference that whilst hitting the ball forwards you simultaneously are making a ever so slight backhand topspin motion upward..take a look at the clip to understand what i mean
