Why am I interested in these? They come in a nice tube...

My guess is they're probably OK. They're either relabeled Double Fish or relabeled DHS 40+ ABS balls. Considering what they cost, I'll just pick up some when I visit Decathlon. Never been in a Decathlon store, they opened here fairly recently and I've never had any reason to go into a sporting goods store (most of the table tennis stuff from sporting goods stores aren't enthusiast grade). I've been told they sell decent table tennis stuff, but the tables I see on their website do look like they suck.

A friend of mine works in a Decathlon shop.He gave us away some Pongori training balls.I must say the quality is rather poor.

Maybe ,the three- star version is much better.
We play with Tibhar three - star balls ,which are good enough .

Here's what I've found through browsing through Decathon's line of table tennis stuff. They do sell low end stuff for the basement rec room crowd - cheap, lightweight balls, rackets with thin, bare sponge, roll-up nets... This stuff often gets labeled as "for use in limited space". But looking through their bats and balls - they do have high end stuff. The 3 star balls are, I think, out of the same Minkow factory that makes DHS ABS balls. They're ITTF certified. And their high end bats are very definitely enthusiast quality. They have a long line of rubbers that are ITTF approved (though this isn't unusual - Stiga has their one star to five star rubbers approved also).

This is from packaging of their top of the line pre-made. When have you ever seen anything like this in a non-table tennis dedicated sports shop, let alone a big chain store? This tells me that, at least for table tennis, they've paid attention to detail - they actually carry stuff that "people in the know" - or people who think they're in the know - that is, us - would actually buy. I'm actually considering buying the bat above - it costs MYR129, which translates to USD28. That's for a carbon arylate blade with two sheets of rubber on it. I suspect it's all made in China, but they've obviously consulted with someone - my guess is with an established table tennis retailer like TT11 or Zeropong - to source this stuff. I suspect this blade/rubber combo will not be to my liking (probably too heavy if anything) but I've always wanted a carbon arylate blade, and it'd be an opportunity to review it. If anything, I'd like to see how easy it is to remove the rubber...

That bat looks like a Viscaria clone, so probably can't go far wrong with it. Costs £50 here though (UK).

You can get just the blade for 40Euro, the whole racket with the rubbers for 50Euro. I think that the rubbers can come off easily.

Decathlon is a popular sporting goods store in China too, though my understanding is it is a French company.
I buy my bicycle helmets from there and the quality v price ratio is great. I also buy my sunglasses there.

I sometimes see people with their ping pong paddles, though not often. As others have said they have stuff that seems "good quality" and is priced at what you would expect to pay for something actually good. But since I can buy good quality equipment @ good prices and which haven't been rebranded, I don't see the need to try.
