I actually like the DHS Orange ABS ball...

Maybe you all will experience differently, but me and Gman have experienced all sorts of prejudice against using the orange ball. Even with exhaustive explanation that the balls are 40+ etc etc, they still refuse to use them and whip out with their anti-long pip balls like the BTY, Joola, or Xushaofa poly balls. I remember not too long ago when everyone seemed to prefer the orange cell balls! :@ :swear:

My eyes don't track the white balls quite as well as the orange one, so this bums me out.

I suspect it is partially due to the fact that not a single tournament uses them - why practice with orange if you are going to play with white next week? Orange ones are invaluable in our club when you are playing next to a coaches table: very easy to retrieve your ball once it inevitably ends up there.

It's everyone. Most of the people that seem to object are the people that never compete! But many of the tournament guys dislike them too... I think the tourney peeps partially dislike them for the reason you mention, but I think everyone else seems to think that they are "low quality" or "cheap." Probably because they associate the orange with "old cell balls."

I think it's more to do with the bounce and spin quality. They're not as consistent as the Nittaku's or the seamless balls. I noticed the inconsistency myself sometimes. Hope they keep improving them.
