I've not tried any of the 3* Butterfly balls. How do the G40+ compare to the A40+ ?

If I were to choose from the two, I would prefer A40+; however, both are inferior to Nittaku Premium, in my opinion.
G40+ are very slick and shiny, I don't like how they feel at all.

From what I've since learned from others, the G40+ is made in Germany and is a pre-ABS ball that many players don't like. The A40+ is made in China (possibly a re-badged D40+ ball?) that seems to be much more popular.

Can't compare the G40+, but the A40+ is definitely not a re-badge D40+. Walls are thinner, feels noticeably softer. Might be the same producer, but not the same specs.

G40+ are universally disliked around here. I think the sound is a big part of it, they sound very broken like a lot of the early balls did. Also beak easily. They play as though they are too light

Hi,

I played with the G40+ balls, sometime, last year..A fellow club-mate who'd traveled abroad got them down.... The crappiest balls I've played with ...

Since, end of Jan, I've been playing with the A40+ balls.... Guess what - Once again, The same club-mate, got them down ... Not my most favorite, but way better than the G40+

Our club used to be sponsored by Butterfly... I played with all BTY balls over the last couple years.
G40+ was a big improvement over the original 40+. It didn't feel similar to Nittaku but it was playable although it would become slippery and shiny pretty quickly. A40+ is a clone of the popular DHS D40+.

If it's made in China it's probably a re-badged D40+. The other alternative is the Double Fish V40+.

We've been playing a lot with the D40+ recently - the white, the orange and the bi-colored.

The DHS D40+ (Played with just the white ones), when new is nice... However, after a couple of days of play, they turn yellow'ish (no, not due to dust, etc.. even washing does not help), and after a week-ten days of regular play, the bounce start diminishing gradually (But, not to the extent, the they're un-playable with, eventually)

I've tried the V40+, it has a very rough surface, which you'd think would make it more spinny, but it actually felt less spinny to me.

I like the DoubleFish V40+ ITTF 3*, especially when you can get them at a price like 4 USD for 10 balls in aliexpress. Got 50 of them for practising, that's 5 boxes of 10, and all boxes passed the authenticity check, and I found 5 "eggs" amongst 50 balls. That's not bad for the price .
