Hi guys, I'm practising for an upcoming hardbat tournament but cracked 3 DHS D40+ balls during the last session. Is there a more durable ball I can practice with? Thanks, |

Bugger. It's been years since I played hard bat, but don't remember celluloids cracking so easily. |

The rule of thumb is to practice with the tournament ball so find out what ball is being used in the tournament and practice with that regardless of durability. |

MOST DURABLE 40+ ?? hock The ball of superior shock resilience. It would withstand many, many reiterated shots, up to 70 tonnes momentary force at full speed swings 300 km/h The ball diameter would be very close to 40 millimeters, I believe. |

I found that the DHS ones split at the seam after a while. Currently using the YinHe seamless and have yet to have one crack. |

I don't remember the last time I broke a D40+, they're very durable. perhaps the OP got a bad batch? Yes agreed, the seamless are extremely durable, that might be another option for the OP. |

I find the Ding Ning D40+ balls virtually bulletproof. Rarely break one. All of the seamed balls are very vulnerable to a top edge causing a crack. |

The D40s are indeed very durable... However, I find that as they get more played-in with, they tend to lose bounce, and they turn off-white'ish .... |

This is the case of all D40+ balls and other DHS OEM manufactured balls like the Stiga Perform, Yinhe etc. The hairline "fractures" appears after a few HARD smashes and become quite unpredictable. I would prefer if the balls actually completely cracked so that you could trust that they're predictable. |

Nittaku 2-stars are more durable than Nittaku 3-stars in my experience. A top quality ball that plays every bit as good as the Nittaku 2-star is the Nittaku Japan Star (aka J-star). These are my main ball for training and league play unless someone objects and then I dig into my (smaller) supply of Nittaku 3-star balls. Nittaku 3-star: $2.83/ball* Nittaku 2-star: $2.08/ball* Nittaku J-star: $1.20/ball** *One dozen **Two dozen |
