I paid 3 times as much, once, for a Japanese sponge that appeared to be very high quality and was packaged very nicely. I don't remember it playing any better than less expensive Chinese sponges though. This Komann sponge looks just like a lot of other Chinese sponges I have bought before, except for the density. It's not my sponge of choice. As a card carrying E.J., I'm required to try a lot of different stuff.

where can I get the card? I want to be official

Eacheng.net sells an Avalox 48-52* sponge for $12 that I've tried briefly (no, it wasn't like Tenergy). I don't think you'll find *any* stand-alone sponge that's like Tenergy's Spring sponge; such sponges are only sold with the topsheet attached, at least for now.

Rakza Z Extra Hard is 52-57deg hardness, and Rakza Z regular is 47-52deg.

Rakza Z is already too hard for me after using it a few months though other folks with better technique might prefer it.
