I've used the Adidas Samba as an all around shoe.
For crossfit, a weightlifting shoe, and for TT.
A good Allround, old school shoe with a street price of $50.

Recently I picked up a pair of Mizuno Wave Drive 7's.
I like them so far, but for $50 it's hard to beat the Adidas Samba.

I prefer NEW BALANCE. They are good for walking and for sport. I found they here http://thecrossfitshoes.com/

Got these cheap Chinese sneakers at Eacheng:

Very light, very grippy - BUT don't play on a wet surface, especially not a wet concrete or tiled surface. Injured my knee when my left foot slid sideways and I ended up on the floor. Went back to my old fake Butterflies after that if there was even a threat of rain.

Yonex badminton shoes - light grippy, low to the ground and somewhat supportive.

I have a large broad foot & I have found that New Balance 624 works well for me. I use to use cross trainers but found tread gripped to well which put to much stress on knees & ankles. The 624 has more of a volleyball tread which suit me well.

I have been wearing Asics Gel Rockets, but recently bought a pair of Li-Ning ASNH009 (catchy name, right?) from Aliexpress for about £25. They just arrived, but they look quite good, and are the right size, although if you have a very wide foot, it would be advisable to go up a half-size from normal. They are partly for backup, and partly so that I have a matching shoe for red shirts

I started to play in Asics running shoes when I came back to TT again around 6 years ago. Quickly found out that it was not the best choice due to lack of sideways support. I wore them out in no time.

The table tennis shoes I have tried were too soft for me. I have also looked at cross trainers, badminton and volleyball shoes, which seem to work very well for other players. For a heavy bloke like me, handball shoes seem to be the optimal choice. I am 183 cm tall and 115 kg, so clearly overweight (that would be 6' tall and 254 pounds or just over 18 stone).

My shoes are Asics Gel Squad, quite flat with some shock absorption, stable and very durable. I have used them for around 4 years and they are now beginning to wear out (no problem with the exterior, but inner lining around the heel is now see-through...).

I wear Onitsuka Tigers. They have a gum sole, decent grip and decent comfort. I like them because they are light.

It is no doubt that table tennis shoes are best designed for table tennis. However, I always feel equally comfortable playing TT on the volleyball shoes I bought on this site: https://www.kahunaverse.com/best-volleyball-shoes. The shoes are very light, durable, and comfortable. However, if you resolve using the table tennis shoes, look for a brand with a grippy and non-slip sole. Notably, Asics is a common brand for many tennis table players.

I use Adidas Court Team Bounce Indoor Shoes, they maybe not the lightest ones (compared to pure tt shoes) but they give me the best support and traction :)

Got these Perfly brand of badminton shoes, from Decathalon, a couple of months back..

They're decent, but at around $45, I don't think they're worth the price ..

Asics Gel-Blade are really good with fantastic grip. Probably should be avoided if you're dramatically overweight. Can often be found on discount. I think that I've used 4-5 pairs during the last two years. Started out with version 6 that I liked better than the current version 7 but it's still a great shoe. I typically replace them when the cushioning starts to feel dead.

Before I switched to the shoes mentioned in my last post, I had the following Asics

cheaper than the Perfly, good grip, and quite comfy ... However, they didn't last too long.. The front mesh Started tearing-off progressively & rapidly.. Had to throw them away, when the hole got embarrassingly large...
