Hi all
I was browsing AliExpress for all things table tennis and have noticed this description for each TT blade they sell.
"CS - Short Handle - more suitable for speed style tennis
FL - Long Handle - more suitable for stalemate and loop"

They also mention the penhold handle if there is one, so I suppose CS is not it.
FL usually stands for Flared rather than long.

What Chinese are on about I wonder.

Thanks!!!

I was shopping sone time back on AliExpress CS(Chinese penhold) handle seems to be penhold/Short handle it seems. I think CS is Chinese penhold while JP is Japanese penhold, FL for flared shakehand grip

Yeah, "FL" is a flared handle (for the shakehands grip) and "CS" is Chinese penhold (a short, oval handle). You'll notice that pretty much all Chinese blades come with "FL" handles, a few also have a "CS" option, while a very, very few have "ST" (i.e. "straight") handles - these are usually chopping blades. European and Japanese blades, on the other hand, give you several shakehands options - FL, ST, AN ("anatomic"), and very uncommonly, Conical (while the "CS" option is uncommon). JP (Japanese Penhold) blades are usually totally different - they're usually offered only in that style, and few if any shakehands blades are offered in JP.

I don't know about the "stalemate" business, though...

For more of this check out tabletennis11.com. (Interesting discovery - while you can't buy Butterfly RUBBER on tabletennis11 unless you happen to live in Latvia, you can, in fact, order Butterfly BLADES.. A Viscaria will set you back EUR133.25..)
